Well, the snow was glorious to see at daylight today. mountains and garden and even the car coated in pure iced white,,

And now it has all but gone, and the sunshine, warm enough to sit out in and close the eyes and soak in the heat, is glorious too..

The mountains are still slightly frosted, but not for long..

A lovely episode that will be remembered..

    West Connemara

this low keeps poping up on the GFS,potential for strong winds in the West wednesday night.

Been watching this for the last few days also and trying to make sense of it with the models changing a lot with each run in both track, timing and intensity. The ARPEGE goes more for a series of lows it would seem and one in particular deepening as it passes over the country. This low looks almost bombogenesis in nature as it crosses land from the SW and over the southern part of the country on its way across the UK ( the GFS has a similar LP but much lower off the coast and crossing the UK and deepening in the North Sea ). I have seen before where the models were showing one large area of LP as in the GFS only to show up as 2 or more areas of LP in runs nearer the time. Is the ARPEGE on to something? This run then goes on to show that second LP crossing the West later in the evening as it fills.

    One to watch.

Our winter arrives just as our Spring is supposed to start.

I always find Spring, and particularly the months of March & April, to be the most tedious, yet cruellest of months weatherwise. Nearly always feels colder than winter. For me, the only 'true' spring month is May.

It's probably a combination of nucleation and fractals. Looks awesome.

Microscopic peaks and valleys in the surface of the paint, maybe caused by rubbing a waxing cloth over it would provide a nucleation line "trunks" and the "branches" causes by the fractal nature of ice.
