He realised he was wrong. So he turned and went the opposite direction to the direction to which he had been travelling. Which was sort of ironic given that, being a cyclist, he was initially going the wrong way up a one way street.

My current pet hate is fooking asswipe runners running on the roadside cycle lanes both toward and against traffic, sometimes in groups. If I was out on my bike I wouldn't be altering course for them, it would be head down and full steam ahead, a nice field test for my helmet so to speak.
