To my uneducated eye its more than likely for the best. The strength of the wind and gusts could have just made it a complete lottery, no?

    Is a knot < or > than a mile?

Knot = 1 nautical mile per hour - so just over a land/statute mile per hour

is a nautical mile any different to a statute mile ? Is just over the sea rather than land ?

Note to self - just don't comment on wind (especially taunting it with Monty Python)

It has laid low the sailors of Rio :(
