Serious anti-climax that. Really hope they race tomorrow. I'd be happy with bronze, waaay better than 4th, but I want her to have a shot at that gold medal too, she's not a million miles off it.

I see there are thunderstorms / rain forecast for Guanbara Bay tomorrow....not sure if that means wind or not.

    Right... now what to watch?

Do we still have a diver on the go?

You could try Chelsea vs West Ham. Bound to be a bit of diving in that. ;)

Ollie Dingly in 10th at the min, 20 have gone in round 3 so far.

There are 29 in the comp in total, with 18 going through to the next round.

He looks to be well placed to get through if he can keep his form going

    Ah feck! That's rough.

Who'll provide the updates, apart from anything??? :D

Seriously, though - he's done an absolutely sterling job, major kudos to him :)

Is there no way he could change flights or something? It would be a real shame if we wasn't there for the medal race.....he seems very close to his sister.

Possibly a cost thing, hence the tweet to Iberia?

Great to see Victoria Pendleton (ex GB cyclist) chatting to Anna Mears (Oz) who looks like she's coming off the track for the last time. They were fierce rivals for years, but seem to have genuine respect for each other

Hopefully somebody like Paddy Power or whoever pitches in and helps him out. There's no way he can miss the medal race :)

Really? He knows more than me so i'm not inclined to doubt him. As it stands, she is effectively tied second as it's a straight shoot-out between her and the Dane tomorrow as regards their final postings. But I wouldn't have assumed that meant a tie in the event of no medal race - but what would i know anyway!!

Well that was all very frustrating.

Will have to head back tomorrow. There was 20 mins of real banter when we thought the race was happening, which was flattened like a lead balloon then.

The diving commentators made references to a Stephan Feck (gotta love that for a name :D) diving howler in London 2012.

    Here it is.

    YeeeeOOOOWWWWWWW

Why is diving getting so much coverage, it appears to make up about 50% of the Olympics ?

There's load of different competitions, and the beeb in particular show loads of it as they have loads of competitors.

Think Oliver is our first diving competitor ever or in many decades. And he's doing well in fairness.

Its on at our prime TV time

Ireland has its first competitor in over 60 years, hence RTE coverage now

Tom Daley is a big star in UK, and they were successful in another synchronised diving event, so BBC gave it plenty of coverage too

Gold medal bout is about to start in the Greco-Roman wrestling. Ukraine vs Russia I think.

I was going to ask the same about fencing!

One of the BBC channels seems to be permanently showing it - all the others get around different sports but fencing always seems to be on!

Big medal hopes for GB in both fencing and penthathlon

Annalise will win the bronze if the medal race doesn't go ahead tomorrow. I don't get that. There's 2 days at the end of the Olympics with no sailing. Why not push it all back a day? Would be anti climax for her (and us) to win a medal like that.
