It sure is. Tough being a Villa fan these days

I pretty much gave up on soccer a while back but it still hurts. Even making the playoffs could be out of the question already this season. The Championship is littered with teams I remember being staples of the Premier League, Villa look destined for the same.

I've been offered a Samsung S7 on prepay for €485....it's too good to pass up?

    Hot bargain

No, family members discount instore...the S7 edge isn't qualifying, but the one plus3 is 400 and not in the same league. . Prob will jump at it

    Sounds good.

I might spring for that new google phone if the smart people on the internet tell me its good.

Can't tell if those last few posts are serious? I'm probably a bit of a luddite but that seems horrid expensive for a phone.

I'm having second thoughts about paying 75 quid for one if that's any use.

Couple friends have picked up the one plus3 and absolutely swear by it. Supposed to be an excellent phone for the price.

485 is extremely cheap for a flagship phone like the s7 these days.

What does it do that other cheaper phones don't do though? Like I said, bit of a luddite, but my phone (Samsung Galaxy S4) does everything I could possibly want it to do and probably a lot more. What does the extra €300 get me?

I know lots of people love their technology so I'm not judging anyone here, I just don't get it.

If you use your phone a lot it will only last a short amount of time unfortunately. If I guy the newer phones they'll last me 18 months or so generally and it works out better value and easier than buying a cheaper one which I struggle to get to last a year.

Yeah, I have to admit I don't use my phone a whole lot. I've had this one nearly 2 years and it's good as new.

Unfortunately for work I'm on my phone 5-8 hours a day, every day
I need something that is going to take the strain. The one plus3 is a cracking phone....but the camera is still a bit rubbish

I had my HTC M7 for well over 2 years and it showed now signs of slowing down. I'd probably still have it if I didnt try fix it myself. Currently have the HTC 10 and I really like it.

Go for it Felix. That's a good deal. I'm on an S5 and I love it. Bought it "cold" for €590 2 years ago. Swore to myself I would get 3 years out of it in order to justify the cost. Looking good to stick to that plan as it hasn't let me down in any shape or form.

    It's:
    1) My phone; all my work comes through it.
    2) my camera ; very high spec, & altho not needed for work invaluable when comes to kids' antics
    3) my internet on the go...how did anyone find out anything 20 years ago?
    4) my walkman. (Yes I still love and use that word.)

    Hence price justified.

Me and the soon-to-be-wife are looking at heading away somewhere for a few days after our wedding in November (not doing proper honeymoon til next year).

Anyone any suggestions of places to go for 2/3 days (it'll be midweek). Ireland or otherwise.

Can't praise Rathmullan House highly enough. Have staid 3 times now and it has never failed to be awesome.

Operating on my understanding that you are based in Dublin - the Brooklodge in Wicklow is nice, it's not massively expensive but a good spot and out of the way.

The wife and I spent the first few days of the honeymoon just chilling out because the last minute prep for the wedding and the day itself is actually pretty tiring.

Wineport lodge is nice, as is the Radisson Blu in Cavan also. Aghado Heights in Killarney is an amazing stay, really look after you but it's a little pricier and out of the way.

Kellys resort in Rosslare also a decent break.

Whether it's Ireland or not ye decide on, I'd strongly recommend going the airbnb route. I've used it 4 times, once here and 3 times in Wales.
The people who host all seem to be real salt of the earth types who give an authentic and indigenous version of accommodation.

Good bang for buck to be found too.

    Shandon Hotel? http://shandonhotelspa.com/

Newly reopened this summer after a change of owner and massive face lift. There's usually loads to do around the area too but I'm not sure what would still be open in November but the hotel has a nice spa and a pool. Lots of nice eating places in Dunfanaghy too.

    What you after?

November for weather you're a bit stuck for the 2/3 day trip cause flights will eat up a lot of travel time if you're looking for sun.

City Break -> classic Prague, Budapest and/or loads of other Ryanair options.

Or stay at home, embrace the wild weather and head West.

Donegal is too far out of the way.

Don't really care about sun, we'll get that on proper honeymoon. Wouldn't mind somewhere cold.

Just something relaxing for a few days, but with a few things to do.

Plus the Tap Room does Kinnegar and wood fire pizzas. Never actually stayed there, but been in a couple of times and would rate it. Def an option awec. Even has an interesting rugby wall would you believe.
