Either way, especially if the weather is good, it has the potential to be epic...

    No doubt.

It's going to be special to see Leinster break their own record winning margin in a Pro12 final.

Yea, thats great and all but theres challenging an opinion and theres being incredible precious about that opinion and being a bit of a dick to the poster who gave it. To be honest theres been a number of times this season that these boards have been downright painful to read and I don't think its any coincidence that its coinciding with Connacht's rise. I don't know if the posters in question have always been here and just contained themselves to the Connacht thread or if they're pure bangwagoners and I don't really care, it just needs to stop. I'm very happy to see Connacht as a team finally step up and I hope it continues next season, and I don't mean tar all a teams supporters with the same brush but lads, quite frankly, having seen what this place has become over the last season theres a siazable part of me that wants to see Connacht absolutely thrashed because of some of the posters on here.

Haha jaysus I'd love to take what ever you magical pill you took to happily forget the horrendous LENvMUN Wars that plagued this forum over the years - i however can remember them fondly
To say it's Connacht fans that is bringing the forum down when I remember all the muck I'd to read through is rather eyebrow raising I gotta
Sure it's a running joke in the forum at this stage about the place going to crap come 6N time as the provincial knives come out
I think I know the posters you are on about and trust me, fairly sure they make Connacht fans cringe more than anyone

    But anyways, let's talk rugby

I'm thinking could see Connacht bench of Ronaldson and Poolman over O'Leary and Robb

That's interesting. Lam is usually good for a surprise selection or two. Think Robb will hold his place he's a better centre than Danie and wing is more easily covered with Henshaw moving to FB and TOH switching to wing.

Would love to see Ronaldson involved but possibly out too long at this stage? End of 6N period was last time he played I think as recall him missing Leinster at home.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,069 ✭✭✭✭wp_rathead

Ya but Ronaldson covers 12 like Robb, and AJ can play the full 80
That's why I figured Poolman be daaycent option
But hey. Will have to wait and see :)

Totally agree with this. He escapes abuse that other refs would get for the same decisions/performances because of his past record, but certainly he's left me scratching my head a few times this season. Still a great ref, of course.

So what you're saying is he hasn't quite yet become the Heaslip/Kearney/Healy of referees but he's heading that way :D

Just want to apologise for getting involved in dragging the thread of topic last night with the Buckley vs Healy/other LHs. As I said, I'm happy to debate it on another thread as I think he's a good player but I have my doubts about him going to the next level. Let me know what thread y'all want to discuss it on :)

Also, the comment about watching 8 plus games most weekends was due to someone telling me to "witness" more rugby. I was simply stating that I watch a lot (from different comps) not that I'm an expert above all others. And if I watched any more rugby I'd probably end up single :D

In fairness, this is, at a minimum, a questionable statement, and not very representative of reality ....

Yeah looking back on it there probably was a little bit of overreaction on my part as well. Sorry about that folks. :o

I don't think it's even provincial at this stage. I took a break from the forum during the 6 Nations because of how relentlessly negative the place became. It wasn't to do with provincialism (or at least not directly anyway), it was just Boards turning into just another internet hangout where people spew outrage and desperately seek out offence/rows behind a shield of anonymity and wilfully abandon reason and perspective in the process. I haven't been posting anywhere near as often because while that has died down it hasn't gone away.

Anyway, the match.....what Connacht fans are going to be in attendance?

I get the feeling and I hope I'm wrong that Healy's Goose is cooked and his best days are behind him, a bit like Corbisiero for England, too many attritional games at a young age taking their toll.

It would be rude not to. Although I have another 5 (non-boards) people in tow. All family and a few a little older. Will need to get them on board too.

Hopefully Connacht's exciting brand of rugby gets its chance to shine against the brutish 9 man game played by Leinster. Such a dull forwards-oriented team in comparison to the boys in green.

I'm planning to watch the Exeter Chiefs v Sarries game at the Murrayfield Fanzone from 3pm - could meet there? Think we could all unify and get behind Chief's :D
I don't know where I'll be Friday or post match Saturday

I'm not sure I could face watching Sarries win the double tbh.... :(

But yeah that might be worth a shot. Could be tough to find each other there though....

You could all wear Sarries jerseys, that'd make it rather simple to find each other.

Well I'll be in green :D

Had to think about that one for a second : was wondering what is it with Irish fans wearing their international gear when supporting their club - has he not even got a generic blue shirt like?
    Then realised my mistake....

Can you send me on the details. Struggling to get accommodation. Do they include breakfast in that price or will that be an extra grand or two?

Looks like the trophy will be in Malone's (up off the Grassmarket) on Friday with Alan Quinlan, I know, I know I can hear the clamour from both sets of fans already.

Is this only being shown on Sky?

Great pub. Get your snapfaxes out.

The Murrayfield Hotel might be an ideal place for some pints, if they've got their marquee up. Get their early and then it's only a 10 minute walk across the road.

I'll check in after work tonight.
