There are few things more irritating in the world than a Cork accent.

False D4 accents, must be the most ear grating accent in the world.

I was about to say no-one better post and say Derry or Donegal, too late.

Hawkwind and CJC, I will hunt you both down. Hi.

    The "'Dort Line " accent
    Drogheda
    Arklow

That North England "Ya all right?" type yorkshire one.
    London
    South African
    Male French
    Australian

    Drogheda,
    Chav (innit bruv),
American/Canadian accents where they sound like they are asking a question at the end.
I'm gonna annoy a few here but I actually can't stand most Dublin accents.

There is one Dublin accent that I don't mind and that's similar enough to Jamie Heaslip's one (Thats the best example I can give!)
D4 is awful. Can't even tell if some of them are Irish or what.

Aussie bogan accent's are AWFUL. Like your one from Chopper. Ear grating!
    Scobe Limerick accents.

Hands down the Australian accent. I can handle the broad Steve Irwin type version of the Australian accent, but the ''cultivated'' urban Australian accent is incredibly annoying and smug, can't stand it.

D4's must have the most pretentious accent ever. I have a particular dislike to some French accents and Northern Irish accents. I also hate some American ones, particularly the Texan one.

The Swiss German accent spent 16 days in company of a Swiss woman on a group tour . That accent poisoned me ....

Can't quite take the South African one seriously. I can never shake the suspicion that they have to be putting it on a wee bit, nobody can actually talk like that surely?

Heard an Aussie comedian describe it to an American audience as 'Right, imagine my accent, but I'm punching a black person' which now also pops into my head every time I hear it :pac:

The fake American one is the worst, especially when used by people who say "like totally" all the time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,832 ✭✭✭heldel00

I can't believe that the Cavan accent was only mentioned once! You have all either forgotten about us or we're improving!

There is a programme on CBeebies in the mornings called "Boj". Think it is Australian but good god it is an assault on your lugs!

Accents don't bother me as much as those who display their dominance by means of throat noises

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,503 ✭✭✭✭bodhrandude

The nasal accent of the Glaswegian skanger or ned can be hard to take, "Kno whit a mean an that."

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)
