Anyone else think in the Embedded series with promotions the way Jones and Cormier are speaking in the airport it's as if there after been told to get a dig in about promoting and flying?

Well then if, as White has said, he's a possibility for 201, 202 etc - why not have a rescheduled RDA bout?

I can't be the only one who was seriously looking forward to seeing how that would have played out!

Why would Conor still deserve a title shot?
He lost to a lightweight (Diaz) at a catchweight. One who also got battered by Dos Anjos. You can't play MMA math to make title fights but if Conor is in a title fight anytime soon it's back defending his belt

MMA math? oh dear gawd!

Just because X got beaten by Y, who was beaten by Z doesn't mean Z beats X. Thats the beauitful thing about sports, especially fighting, basic logic has no place in determining the winner

    Exactly!

    Rousey beat Tate (twice)

    Holm beat Rousey (ktfo!)

    Yet Tate beat Holm.

Even if that wasn't the case, I can't see Conor being remotely interested in fighting anyone else other than Nate. Even if it means he gets stripped of his belt. The fact that Nate has clearly snubbed whoever the hell Dana propositioned him with for 200 solidifies that. Nate missed out a decent pay day there in the hope for a big fat pay day down the road whenever they meet again and I think that will be respected by Conor.

Also, I would say that because Conor will be burning to have a title fight at MSG, I'd say the Nate fight is a cert to be at 201. Can't see anyone wanting to delay it for even so much as one second longer than is necessary. If he beats Nate I'd even say there is a good chance that he might not even care about losing his belt as I'm not at all sure that either him, or John, wanting him cutting to the degree he needs to in order to make 45 and who can blame them..

Conor won't be fighting for any title other than the 145 one for quite a while.
He lost that shot when a 10 day notice lightweight contender pummelled him in the canvas and choked him out.

he'd have to beat a few top 10 lightweight guys to justify a shot now and tbh I think he struggle to do that. The likes of Alvarez , Barbosa, and Ferguson would give him serious trouble. Nate will beat him again and RDA and Khabib would rag doll him.

Have to beat a few Top ten lightweights? Not a chance.

All Conor has to do is beat Nate and then he can pretty much choose to fight whoever the hell he wants to fight, be that RDA or Lawler (which is the route I personally think he will take) rather than go back down to 45 to fight Edgar*.

    *Jose will be lose.

I have only seen him in the Condit fight tbh and he didn't look all that unbeatable there.

Anything else I've seen of him was just been old clips such as the following against Nick Diaz.

Last week I was wacthing some interview with Nate and in it he seemed to imply that he wouldn't fight Lawler if he'd been offered him for 200 (in place of the pulled McGregor) because he suggested that Nick wants to fight him again when he comes back.

When did you start watching MMA?

Lawler is simply a beast . I would be worried for Conors health if the ever fought each other.

Even if you were just a mcgregor fanboy you surely would have seen Lawler Mcdonald at ufc 189 before Conor fought????

Put it this way, Condit is a better striker than Conor, is bigger than Conor and he couldn't put Robbie away. Robbie throws absolute bombs and is a massive welter weight. If he fought Conor, it wouldn't last very long, he'd wade through everything Conor threw at him and then unleash a bomb of an overhand left and it's night night time.

Conor is an average sized LW and a big FW, he's a very small WW.

Weight classes exist for a reason. We saw what a big LW did to Conor, Robbie Wouldn't take 2 rounds to wobble Conor and when did he wouldn't do the humane thing and choke him out, he'd throw bombs from the top until the ref stopped it.

Conor will defend his FW belt and after that if he doesn't lose to Frankie, he can talk about going to LW and fighting someone like Ferguson. Diaz or Khabib.

I really don't think he has a hope in hell of getting the LW strap though, it's just a completely different ball game in that division.

Fight of the ever more like.

It was the most exciting fight I think I'll ever see, that said there were moments during it where I felt unease at the repeated head trauma those guys were taking.

I'd reply more but i've better things to be doing than talking about the length of time people started watching from or waiting for tweets to appear

The stare at the end of the 4th round i think made me feel uneasy, two absaloute warriors.

Whatever about Me thinking Conor wouldn't beat RDA or Diaz , I understand there is definatley the possibility he could and I wouldn't be in shock.

    Conor v Lawler :-D
I doubt even he or anybody in his team would believe that themselves :-D

It's definitely in the top 5 of all time.
Few other legendary matches that top it for me but I wouldn't argue strongly against it.
Amazing fight. Watched that 4th round from between my hands. No wonder Rory hasn't fought since! Warrior!!

For the people who think Conor could beat Lawler please watch that fight again :P

I don't think Lawler is an amazing fighter compared to the other top guys at the moment, but he is the toughest guy in the sport right now. Not a hope Conor is knocking him out and I don't fancy that fight lasting 5 rounds. From that perspective it's just a mismatch.

Conversations of Conor outside the 145/155 are so far fetched that when he loses those fights people are going to begin to forget just how good he is within the weight divisions he should be fighting in.

No idea, was just replying to the post referring to it. It's a proper mismatch.

He actually is probably the luckiest champion in UFC right now. Shouldn't have got the Hendricks decision, was losing the fight against Rory till he knocked him out late and shouldn't have got the decision against Condit.

On the flip side, he's put on some of the best UFC title fights in recent memory. I'm not complaining!

I had him beating Hendricks. Johnny broke mentally by the end

I have to pull ya there, condit is not a better striker than mcgregor, no fecking way. mcgregor is where he is now purely on his efficiency as he admits, nominal output maximum hit rate. his power decimates 145'ers but cannot carry into WW as we seen. I agree, condit is a beast, he's a 6 foot plus lean welter weight who should go over when hit, yet he can take the best out of big rig, lawlor and GSP and still keep truckin!!
I think condit is one of the greats, a real martial artist, throws left and rights followed by low then high kicks, has a very durable style and savage work rate plus fitness for weeks. He really is the champ that never was.
