She has to do a few runs every 7 or 8 days or else she has to go in for a major check that costs more than she is worth, so its cheaper to burn fuel for a half hour

I don't get it - is that a private jet or something? They wouldn't be leaving a 737 sitting around doing nothing, I imagine.

Of course they would! The European aviation markets is extremely seasonal, Ryanair probably park up tens of aircraft over the winter if not more.

That's the 737-700 they got for crew training about a year ago.

EasyJet A319 doing a ton of tight circuits with touch & go (or possibly missed approaches) on RWY24 at Shannon. Crew training I assume.

I see a Miami Air returned to SNN shortly after takeoff, and the Stobart inbound from BHX and the Cityjet SU from Rovaniemi had to hold for a time.

    Tailstrike upon rotation.

It would seem there wasn't in fact a tail strike as the flight left Shannon some time after 8pm, around 90 mins. after returning. No other cause established for what the crew felt or heard as far as I know.

    Anyone else use this?

    www.radarbox24.com

Million times better than flightradar24 as it seems to show everything in the air including military flights.

Sessions only last 10 mins though which is a pain.

All delays cleared just as you say it! Would love of the UK lifted the regulation restricting it though.

Really? I've never got a link to UK ATC that ever worked!

Meanwhile there is dense fog at BHX, in the hold there is EI3638 from Shannon and EI3278 from Dublin. This is as well as
    MT1133 (TFS-BHX),
    BE512 (JER-BHX),
    BE852 (EDI-BHX),
    AL113 (DEL-BHX) diverting
ZB447 (GIB-BHX) which is making an approach (Landed)

Fog at East Midlands also causing diversions, TOM7581 (TFS-EMA) appears to be diverting to BHX and
EXS001A (TFS-EMA) also looks to be doing the same.
    FL746 (KEF-EMA) and
    QY2103 (DUB-EMA) also holding.

    Update 20:52 : EI3638 SNN-BHX gone around, rejoining hold.
    QY2103 DUB-EMA diverting to Doncaster,
    FI746 KEF-EMA diverting to Manchester,
3V2606 BFS-EMA made loop and now diverting to somewhere,
FR536 DUB-EMA has joined the hold at EMA
S66977 BFS-EMA has joined the hold at EMA

ZV495 ALC-BHX has joined the hold at BHX
W61807 WRO-BHX has joined the hold at BHX
BE3010 CDG-BHX has joined the hold at BHX
BE1858 TXL-BHX has joined the hold at BHX
KL1435 AMS-BHX has joined the hold at BHX
W63019 OTP-BHX has joined the hold at BHX

MT1133 TFS-BHX making an approach at BHX

I didn't know Birmingham had so much traffic!

Yeah, was just driving in North Bedfordshire. I could have done with some autopilot, was not pleasant!

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,135 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

FR4776 MAN-SNN and FR2301 SXF-SNN went around earlier at Shannon due to fog, landed once CAT II conditions came into force.

Eye-Watering delays in Heathrow this morning, just now BA48 from Seattle diverted to Newcastle (Of all places!).

So many cancellations and delays of hours.

    All thanks to fog :)

Basically means fog, 300m and RVR's of 600m and 450m on RWY27R and RWY27L respectively.

Airlive.net are doing a live feed from heathrow on Facebook at the moment. Great footage of planes appearing out of the fog.

EI currently have an A330 in the air doing the 178 to LHR, I assume as a result of a day of horrific delays in London due to fog and flight cancellations
