Brisset looking solid again. Good to see. Jimmy was fairly meh.

I would like to see Brisset up against a starting Defense though. HE looks solid against 3rd and 4th string guys but how is he against the 1st string guys ye know

No doubt, he's playing the 2/3rd stringers but he just looks better than Jimmy. Very subjective of course. I'd hoped to see a more commanding presence from Jimmy by now.

At least our defense is looking stout. They fairly shut down the Panthers starters for most of the game. Encouraging performance against the run too.

Terence knighton released, I would've assumed he was a lock. Apparently he struggled with the 2 gap system, and Valentine played very well against Carolina.

I'm a little disappointed, he grew up a Pats fan, suppose just a few years too late....

Stork failed his physical with the Redskins.

Ninkovich and Mitchell full participants in training again, and a new contract for Matthew Slater.

I'll never forget the way he destroyed our interior O line in the 2013 AFC Championships game and was pivotal in the Broncos win. A pity it didn't work out for him in NE.

Mingo looked good against the Giants, himself and Chris Long look like good additions to the Defence.

And even if Mingo was crap, anybody with a name like 'Mingo' just deserves a place on the roster.:)

It's going to be difficult to cut defenders, they are all playing well. It's very hard to know who will go and I'd bet a few of those cut won't make it past the waiver wire.

Hopefully some trade bait there to utilise

Ninko facing a 4 game suspension for a using a banned substance

Is this one of those NFL threats without proof that we have been hearing about recently or did he actually do a drug test and fail? All we need is him missing games due to a suspension. But then again wasn't he missing games anyways due to injury?

    Reportedly Cut:

    Ce'Vron LeBlanc

    Tyler Gaffney
    Keshwn Martin
    DeAndre Carter
    Markus Kuhn

Hopefully that means Foster makes the main roster. Would be thrilled with that, apparently he's been really impressive as a pass blocker above all else and God knows that's a one-way ticket straight into Belichick's good books.

Surprised at Martin getting cut. I thought he looked solid at WR.

Jeff Howe reckons we're shopping around for some young WRs.

Some cuts today that I reckon we could look at - Keenan Reynolds or Cecil Shorts (not that young).

Also reckon we might take a look at Zach Sanchez on defence.

Thought elsewhere seems to be that BB might be tired of the injury level of those he cut. Martin prob has a good shout at coming back into the team later on, if he's not claimed by another team.

So we are thin at WR know so you would expect some movement maybe in the FA? Also Good to see we kept all 4 Tight Ends I feel Bennett was a given even though he didn't show us much in the pre-season but I am happy we kept both Derby and Harbor both offer us different skills.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,146 ✭✭✭✭StringerBell

Thin at WR but with the strong TE group I expect to see plenty of two TE sets and them both to feature heavily in the passing game.

Especially for the first 4 games! Surprised leBlanc got cut, thought he was doing well in pre season. Also surprised with grissom, but I'd imagine both will make it to the practice squad.

Good to see Darby and harbor being kept, both have something to offer!

So we have offloaded Josh Kline to the Eagles in return for CB Eric Rowe
Philadelphia is sending cornerback Eric Rowe, a 2015 second-round pick, to the Patriots for offensive lineman Josh Kline and a 2018 fourth-round pick, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported according to a source. The 2018 pick can upgrade to a third-rounder if Rowe satisfies certain conditions. This is a move that continues Eagles VP Howie Roseman's erasure of the Chip Kelly era, while giving the Patriots another option for a quietly thin cornerback group.

I like that deal. We have Butler and Cyrus Jones looks like a real good one to me, Jonathan Jones doesn't look half bad either.

I remember looking at Eric Rowe before the draft last year and thinking he looked pretty decent. I didn't get to see much of him for the Eagles last year but he is young and hopefully we have got a real bargain here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,895 ✭✭✭✭paulie21

Bishop Sankey signed to the practice squad. He was the first RB taken in the 2014 draft had a good rookie year but faded last year. Not sure what to expect if Tennessee gave up on him so soon

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,905 ✭✭✭TOss Sweep

So it looks like the Kline Rowe trade is now just a conditional 4th round pick for Rowe. Kline removed from the deal.

Kline surely on his way out regardless considering the way BB spoke about him when he was part of the trade. He must surely be looking at an O Line signing of some sort in the next few days considering the lack of depth there and his willingness to give up on Kline.

We enter yet another season with questions over the O line and it seems to have an annual event at this stage. On a positive note, hopefully any problems the O line might have, can be sorted out when the GOAT returns in week 5.
