Just hope the colour isn't too blue...otherwise they might start to look like Giants jerseys...

So the Texans one is a dark blue so we are wearing the same color for that game?

They selected an all blue uniform, but we get priority as the home team. So they've deciced to not wear any colour rush this year. They're just wearing their regular white away jersey with the white home pants.

That jersey is awful, it looks like some other teams jersey. It's like a Texans jersey and that red and white reminds of something the Bills had at one stage.

Not a big fan but will probably buy one anyways.

Yep couple of other teams in the same boat for their Thursday night game too.

Not that they've let that stop them from selling the jersey mind ;)

Apparently that white jersey is a color rush jersey

    Color Rush:

    Regular:

Mad thing is as said above they are selling their blue one online but not the white one:

It's like we are switching Jerseys for the game. That white jersey is like the Patriots away jersey.

A man could get confused if he is just coming back from the toilet and you see this guy in that white jersey grabbing a ball out of the air for a td. You start celebrating and realise that it was the Texans that just scored!

Just like AT, I'm just back from Phoenix. Game was unreal, super stadium, super atmosphere (although locals reckoned the atmosphere was sub-par). Plenty of Pats fans around too.

I was visiting mates who are season ticket holders, got the nosebleed seats for €110, but it was still a great view, plus plenty of Pats fans around too! Nearly all the TD's, plus the missed FG were down my end!

First US game, Wembley games don't have a patch on the real thing. Went Tailgating, it was everything I'd hoped it would be, and more. (4 screen satellite setup below, showing the 3 afternoon games, and the baseball!)

    Hey guys.
Took the off-season off, literally. Took a break from all social media (apart from keeping an eye on a few things), generally I've dumped a lot of the forums, but was waiting until the start of the season to return here.

Great first win, and infacteh, I'm beyond jealous of your trip!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,184 ✭✭✭BKWDR

    Great photos Infacteh

The tailgate in some ways is on par with the match itself.

That's where the Wembley games will always fall is on the tail gate and atmosphere.

Yeah, tailgating is something else, some of them are run with military precision. At 1 guys tailgate, Big Juan, burgers, hot dogs, shrimp, mac and cheese, you name it, they had it. His whole extended family go every week, must be about 30 of them. About 6 tents, air con with those water spray coolers etc, unbelieveable stuff!

Got the flights for €585 return, I'll definitely go back!!!

For anyone who's debating whether to go to a US game, just go! Well worth it!

I went to the Pats Eagles Game last December and it was brilliant. It was actually a great game that evening too. As Infected said the tailgating is something else. I'll definitely be going back. Sooner rather than later hopefully (while Brady is still there) :)

Mad to think both AbusesToilets and infacteh traveled to the Pats game and each probably thought they were the only Boardsies there. Could have had a wee Boards.ie Pats fan hook up. So close and yet so far.

Yeah, it's a far enough spin to Arizona! I've Yank and Irish mates out there, 1 of the Yanks is a Cards season ticket holder, so I was waiting years for this game!!! And it was worth the wait. I was hoping for a 4th quarter game, and I got a last play of the game game, with a Pats victory the real icing on the cake!

Booked my tickets for #12 return in Cleveland on October 9th. Can't wait going to be an epic road trip.

Interesting article I read today about why none of Gosts kicks against Arizona were touchbacks including some of the pre-season games. Never really noticed it myself but seems like a coaching move and if you think about it a very smart one. NFL rule has the ball to the 25 yard line now on touchbacks so given the average return is less than 20 yards if you drop the ball at the start of the Endzone or in front of the GL makes sense to play the odds of the return not even making it to the 25. Actually makes kickoff more interesting now.

    Edit: The Article
When the Patriots do anything unusual that confounds NFL fans, the wisdom can usually be found with Belichick, and their new habit of kickoffs that land short of the end zone is no different.

You can thank Bill and his new strategy for the Pats win over Arizona last Sunday – and expect to see it again this weekend against the Dolphins too.

When the NFL brought in a new rule this season moving touchbacks to the 25-yard line, the genius Pats coaching staff came up with a solution — intentionally kicking the ball just short of the goal line to try to pin the opposing team deep in their own territory.

“I know there was a lot of sentiment to eliminate that play, but those are the kinds of plays that are good strategy plays in football,” Belichick said this week, according to NBCSports’ Pro Football Talk.

His quotes came after the Pats kicked off with 3:44 left in the game against the Cardinals, leading 23-21. Belichick said Stephen Gostkowski (photo above courtesy of the Boston Globe) has a strong enough leg that he could have kicked it for a touchback, but instead he kicked it high and to the 3-yard line, giving the New England coverage team time to get down the field and tackle Cardinals return man Andre Ellington at the 17-yard line.

Then came a holding penalty that pushed the ball back to the 8-yard line.

And as we all know, the Cardinals kicker Chandler Catanzaro later went wide left and missed the 47-yard field goal that would have won Arizona the game, but didn’t, leading to the Pats starting the season off 1-0.

“Certainly, we had an opportunity to kick it out of the end zone on the last kickoff, but with a good field goal kicker, a good offense, good quarterback, we try to put them on as long a field as we could,” Belichick said, according to NBCSports. “That was a great situational play and we needed it at that time.”

As always, in Bill we trust – we can’t wait to see how his wisdom plays out Sunday against Miami.

As for Gostkowski, he was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after going 3/3 on field goals from 47- and 53-yards out, and the game-winner from 32-yards out with 3:44 left on the game clock.

The Boston Globe reported that the Pats kicker had a certificate in his locker this week — with calligraphy-like lettering and a big gold sticker in the corner — celebrating his exemplary performance.

“Roger typed that up last night, I’ll send it to my mom,” Gostkowski claimed.

“That was a joke, that’s not real …. Roger didn’t send that to me,” he added.

You mean Goodell isn’t rooting for the Pats to win? You’d never guess!

I'd agree it's a good thing early in a game or if you are up by more than a score late on but I wouldn't be a fan of it when you are up by one score or less late in a game.

I would agree with you and you definitely need to have 100% confidence that your kicker has the ability to drop the ball short and for your gunners to get down there and make the stop short of the 20 or 25. So many things can wrong with that late in the game when it is close.

Is Brady banned from the sidelines too? Haven't seen him, or am I blind? :P

Great start, 14 points up and only one incomplete pass from Jimmy.

Sick about Jimmy G. He was playing so well but it will be interesting to see Brissett in the second half. You could see that Garappolo learned a lot sitting behind Brady, the way he steps up in the pocket, the speed at which he checks down are all so like Brady.

The D has been impressive, keeping Miami to a field goal in the first half is a very good show.

I just hope Brissett has enough to keep this going for us.

Hopefully it's just a knock and he can be back for Thursday. Brisset and the D should hopefully be good enough to hold out against this Miami rabble.

Offense not doing Brissett any favours. Giving away penalties and protection ain't great so far.....

OLine letting the Dolphins get to him. Defense getting picked apart by Tannenhill that drive, not good.

Nice long, clock eating drive needed here.
