I enjoy the contributions of the regular posters on here... would be a shame if the couple of posts per year merchants take the thread into the gutter.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,610 ✭✭✭iebamm2580

Look at your own kilkenny thread with regards to gutter talk, sheedy sending tipp out to dive, ffs its embarrassing the posters over there bar a few exceptions. I know i have a dislike for kilkenny but anything i said was factual not like some of the loonies on the kilkenny thread with their conspiracy theories. An honest kilkenny man would admit that larkin and tyrell are talking a bit too much **** at this stage.

At the end of the day, Kilkenny's response to losing a man to a red in the All Ireland final was to rain high ball in on top of our all dominant full and half back line. It was mind bogglingly naive on the day.

The bullsh1t about Richie and this latest petulant nonsense from Larkin is deflecting away from what essentially was primitive, 'hoof it long' tactics on the day and the very fact that one of their experienced long serving players unneccessarily lost their head on the day when they had a decent chance of causing an upset.

This is doing Kilkenny no real favours and is escaping the real issues and question marks that face them after the final collapse. Kilkenny always speak of their spirit under Cody and rightly so in many respects as they showed great resilience over the years. They had a great chance of winning an All Ireland though even in spite of the sending off but they were hugely disappointing in that second half. They should focus on that and stop getting so upset about Tipperary tipping helmets. As for the sending off, red card all day long. He brought his elbow up for crying out loud

I know there's been a few attempts by Tipp posters to rewrite history since the final, such as claims that Tipperary have been dominate over Kilkenny in recent history, so I'm not sure if that's what's happening here but to state that Kilkenny crumbled and died without a fight in 2010 is absolute bull****. Despite being hit with blow after blow at crucial times, Kilkenny came back into the game at least twice.
Here's a history lesson for you. When Laois went down a man v Tipp in the quarter final there was 2 minutes gone in the second half and they trailed by 1-02 on a scoreline of 2-12 to
1-10. They lost the remainder of the second half by 0- 07 to finish on a scoreline of 2-25 to 1-18. Don't forget this was their 3rd game in 14 days. Whereas it was a couple of minutes to half time when Richie Hogan got his marching orders. Kk trailing by 0-1 on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-11. Kk also had the benefit of the halftime break to try and reorganise. The final scoreline was 3-25 to 0-20. This meant they lost the second half by
2-07. At first glance it would appear that Laois delt better than Kk being short a man and
gave us a better game. It's highly unlikely that Kk would have won the AI. Them is the facts so all you Kk fans can rest a bit easier known that Laois gave us a closer game and that it wasn't an Al that got away. Somehow it won't make a bit of difference as Kk only regard Laois hurling as a third class citizen.

Regarding the head pointing by tipp players

I think this is being deliberately misinterpreted by Larkin and a few others

They’re basically saying to each other to keep focused on the game especially to younger players who might be getting excited and given how we’d played so well in ‘09 but still lost.

There’s no implication that any of the kk players are somehow weak mentally.

That's exactly as it happened and not as the Kk boys imagined it.

Why accept the truth when he could just take it and turn it into a good old moan for himself?

Great stuff. Hope they can beat Nemo Rangers in the final and provide Tipp with a much needed boost.
The downside is that if they do win though, they will be without a few Commercials players in the spring for the promotion push

All ireland semi scheduled for 4th of January and final 19th so they should be back.

Should give Nemo a decent test.

Well done to Clonmel Commercials on reaching the MF. They scored the last 3 points to grind out the win in a tough battle against Miltown-Malbay in a low scoring encounter on a scoreline of 0-09 to 0-07. Best of luck to them as they take on Nemo Rangers in the final on Sunday 1 December the tíme and venue have yet to be confirmed. Nemo Rangers had an impressive win in dismissing the challenge of Dr. Crokes on a scoreline of 2-17 to 0-05. Best of luck to
    Borris-Ileigh on Sunday in the
Munster club SHC final against Ballygunner Pairc Ui Rinn, 2pm. Ballygunner are very experienced at this stage of the competition this will be their 4th final in 5 years. Hopefully they will give a good account of themselves.

The actual irony of a Waterford man being upset by a relatively isolated incident where Eoin and Noel advised each other to keep the head :D Mullane, Eoin Kelly, Big Dan, etc gave years jumping around like wild baboons when Waterford even won a sideline cut and fist pumping at their fans

This finger pointing rubbish is the very same as the crap that Loughnane tried on Nicky English after the '93 Munster Final, numerous Clare players of that era have since come out and admitted looking back that it was a pure creation of fiction from Loughnane but at the time they actually believed it. I dont think its any coincidence that the two players subject to these imagined slights are two of the greatest players to have ever played the game.

What kind of an injury did Paddy Stapleton pick up in the match against Glen Rovers the last day? Will he be fit to play on Sunday?
