Hey guys, thought I would post here as i got my box in the group buy and I am going to say cheerio to it. Going to flog it for 50 quid and upgrade to a single function box. I thought I would offer to you folks first before throwing it up on adverts. If you are interested let me know.

Went back to basics and flashed a LibreElec setup onto NAND and using Tvheadend, basically because I feel it's the best for recording, which is my most pressing need. However, I was using an Enigma remote for the PGnigma set up and the LibreElec setup now won't recognise the original remote the box came with. I can use the Enigma remote but would like to change. Any idea how this is done?

New batteries so it's not that. I'm thinking when I mapped the Enigna remote to the box for PGnigma it 'forgot' the original OpenElec remote, but that's just a guess.

have to say wetek seem to have made the sat side of things in android OS much smoother and much cleaner in the Wetek Play 2, mimicking alot of the Enigma2 functions closely.

Do you want to continue using the wetek/android OS? if so i'll try dig out a guide.

If not and you have a spare mSD card around have a look at this guide I put together - http://forum.kodicommunity.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&p=2590

I had seen your pbnigma link a few days previous and still have the tab open with the intention of getting to it when I get more familiar with the box. Managed to find out what was wrong with my sat scans on the wetek - the cables had fallen out of the tuners after being only hand tightened...ugh...lol. So I got all the fta channels tuned.
I see on the Irish android box sites, they say their boxes have all Irish and UK channels. How do they have Irish channels on android?
Also, what will pbnigma give me that I don't have in wetek theatre? I'm still total noob here so any links to basic tutorials are greatly appreciated.

Hi all, I'm currently following tommycahirs guide, (which is very handy), I'm a bit stuck tho, I have burnt the image to the micro SD card then I but it in the box and reboot but it just goes back into the kodi main menu, Am I missing something? Any help would be great.

If your certain you have burnt the image correctly, including formatting the SD card, then try another SD card, some of them can be a bit flakey at times

Try formatting the card in windows

Have you tried the boot loader file that solves a dual boot issue? That might not be your problem but perhaps worth a try. The file is added via the wetek play OS update.

Try formatting the card in windows

When I put the card in the laptop a pop up window appears and asks me to format, I assume that is sufficient?

Cheers, I was using the roadkils one to write the image but tried this one instead and now I'm currently scanning the channels, hope it's plain sailing from here but probably not unfortunately.

I downloaded the latest one and it's working for me although initially I thought it wouldn't boot. I'm not sure what the trick is to get it to boot off the sdcard but I got it working eventually.
Format the card with all default settings in windows by right-clicking on the card in 'my computer' and do a 'quick' format. Load the image then with diskimager. Power off the box, insert mSDcard. Power on, when box boots first message on the white screen should be 'Press power key to boot from SDcard' - this is where I press the power button repeatedly like a madman and hope its booted from the card - if not I pull the cable and try again, it eventually boots. I have tried one long continuous press of the power button also and it worked once and then next time didn't work so I've reverted to the crazy man technique and it seems to work at least half of the time.
I'm using the openelec RCU which really isn't great for this and I'm getting many times where the system becomes totally unresponsive to the RCU and other times where either the system crashes out with an error or else the system hangs. This has resulted in a lot of hard reboots of the system.

I was having dual boot problems between Android and PBnigma, I booted into Android and updated using the zip from this page. After that I havent had any problems.

You may need to install Android on Nand for this to work, I am not too sure!

The IP address of the wetek box

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,591 ✭✭✭tommycahir

as per the prereq notes on my guide you can get that as per below:

To find your IP Addresss go to Menu-> Setup-> Network-> Device Setup-> Lan Setup (WLan option if that is used)-> Adapter settings
    - Note that if you have DHCP set to Yes then your IP Address may change periodically, if you want a static IP address then you need to change the settings here.

No need for port number - IP, Username - root, pswd - powerboard

Ok so thats the right IP should not need port as it will use the default for ftp,are you using the correct username and password for the image in question?

The one I went with in the end if I recall correctly was the second last on the list as I was having trouble burning the latest one to sdcard
