if ever there was a genuine government initiative to make Ireland less reliant on the job sector in dublin. The market is top heavy.

Invest in proper infrastructure outside of Dublin. A new airport, proper broadband, tax breaks for relocation of large corporations to areas outside of the capital. Bring more meaningful long term jobs to other parts of the country.

Another financial district in Galway for instance. The pressure on the housing/services sector in dublin is only going to increase.

Always baffled me how thousands of workers commute into the city centre/IFSC every day only to sit at their desk and communicate via phone/email with the outside world all day, when there really is no need. It can be done from anywhere.

Every audience shot tonight looks like crowd shots of Mass. Hard to believe it's from a chat show (or whatever LLS classifies itself as).

Nothing will ever beat this audience shot...

    Most Irish thing ever.

What's happening? People don't have enough money for houses, is that it?

    Whose fault is it again?

Not being a dick, but is this an extra big problem now or what?

Number of problems. Banks are being overly careful now and sellers are holding out because they think that they market is going to shoot up any day now. Banks are the main problem from what I hear from the buyers perspective.
Anyone who blames one thing doesn't understand the problem. And while everyone tries to blame everyone else nobody does anything.
This is a set of up to a dozen different factors all coming together and been obvious since at least 2012. Banks specifically don't want prices to drop because that means a big drop on their books, lots of virtual money in property.
Most people are in homes, so no problem. It's when you are trying to buy, rent or move you realise how bad it really is.

A serious topical issue gets the same amount of time as two piss heads off a UK TV programme.

    LLS is seriously in bother.

What a fooking waste of time having a debate on such a topic for about 10 minutes.

Well it's not quite as important to the nation as Gogglebox.

Next week will be 10 minutes on the health service and half an hour on the the Great British Bake off.

    There's an election coming up.
