18Z models are still split on Tuesdays low.
GFS, JMA, NAVGEM, EURO4 would give stormy conditions inland over the south. HIRLAM and ARPEGE keep it weaker and further south with winds offshore grazing the coast.

Millions of Euros worth of damage in Donegal. Worst flood of the river finn for a long time. A hotel car park in ballybofey was destroyed when the river finn levelled the wall and 3 cars were swept away with it. 15 other cars destroyed but remained in the car park. Thankfully it collapsed in the middle of the night or people could have been swept away.

People had to be evacuated from their homes in Donegal town. In Castlefinn the river finn burst its banks flooding lots of houses and local businesses and it has been described as the worst flooding in the area since the 1960's. Areas around lk badly flooded and certain roads remain closed overnight.

I'm surprised this didn't make the news on Rte and I see there was no warning thread here. The models were showing over 200mm for the mountains of Donegal so no surprise. Met ie did have a orange warning. I guess Donegal really is the forgotten County xD. The clean up operation will last a long time

The mean winds that ATC report to aircraft are 2-minute means, very different to the standard 10-minute means.

The highest 10-minute mean at Dublin Airport was 20 m/s (39 kts) sometime between 11 pm and midnight, as reported in the midnight synop.

Models are still split over Tuesdays potential stormy conditions. ECM, HIRLAM, ARPEGE don't make much of it. EURO4, ICON, NAVGEM, GEM showing stormy conditions. Normally ECM/HIRLAM is rock solid at this range, but the 36 hour fax chart also sides with the EURO4 so it can't be dismissed yet.

Seen a BBC weather forecast this morning, they're going with the southerly track for the system by the looks of it. Southern England and Wales.

    Met Office:
A deepening area of low pressure is likely to track east across southern Ireland and then central parts of the UK during Tuesday afternoon and evening, with a swathe of very strong winds potentially developing on the southern flank of the low. At this stage, the worst of the winds are expected to reach West Wales mid to late afternoon, sweeping rapidly eastwards during the evening. There remains a good deal of uncertainty in this evolution and particularly the location of the strongest winds, so this Warning will be kept under review and updated as necessary.

Yellow Warning from Met Eireann now. It's looks stronger than that on other models but since HIRLAM shows it weaker it makes sense they went with Yellow for now at least.

12Z HIRLAM looks to be on board the Barney train now. 982mb low peaking just at the west coast and quickly crossing the country. Will see what the rest of the 12Z models do soon.

The EMHI 12z run continues to have the strongest zone of winds slightly more to the south. (map shows gust speeds)

Interesting how the same output looks different there!

Meanwhile, the 12Z ARPEGE packs a punch...Gusts up to 130 km/h inland from the coast. Lively!
