My only choice is to bump to the excess to 750 which lowers the premium to 1483~, but why would I do that?!

Sure as long as you dont crash you will be fine, my excess used to be 3k when I started.

Haven't read through a build thread in a good while. This ones good. Love an old E30 now. Not mad on the alpina setup he's going for but the paint prep workmanship is great. Haven't come across the big sanding blocks before or a few other techniques he uses.

I have 2 spare engines at the ready. Just the annoyance of it all.

Driving 40 miles home like this is going to make my blood boil.

Why didn't I just get another C220 and be done with this crap

Ah now them 406's are well proven by a previous poster on here, it's a pain to pull the engine out alright but worth it!
You had a c220 before your current?

Just the time constraints with work and the distance. Have the use of a C180 but need the car back up and running asap. Need that car for work and weekends

    Aye! Before humpy I had a C220 :)

That's exactly the kind of drivers we don't need on the motorways. "I've been driving for 28 years, I never crashed therefore I'm right"

Look at yourself, you're pathetic. It doesn't matter how many years you drove, you're still learning each time you drive, so don't come here and dare to say you're a perfect driver. You don't need to drive for 50 years to learn lane usage, it's a simple concept I grasped in a few minutes.

You must be great if it only took you your 10 years experience to learn that.

    Jesus Christ!

Pulled the cover off, not broke. Possibly has dropped a valve, it's seized solid.

Getting it recovered tomorrow. Currently locked up in the workplace for the night. For now theres an empty spot at the front of my house :(

    Marvellous!!!

It was spinning over then THUMP. Id say theres a mashed piston and broken stem, let alone a 2 piece valve or more. Thats not accounting for the knock at the bottom....

The head may aswell be scrap. The bottom end I'll rebuild over time. For now I just want my car home, to start on it. I want to have this sorted fast, I need my car for my job.

I already miss it, despite what's happened to it :( I've sent cars to the scrapyard for less :(:(:(
