They just answered on their Facebook page that it will finish at midnight on the Saturday night. Our licencing laws are a bloody joke

Ya that's stupid. They should be able to go till same time as nightclubs.

Was at Pitchfork festival in Paris, November last year and it went on till about 5am.

they probably didn't bother applying for a licence to go that late.

I'd say it has something to do with being close to residential areas. The only concerts in Ireland that ever go past midnight are the ones in fields in the middle of nowhere

They seem a bit overwhelmed by the response tbh

As in overwhelmed by people wanting to go or by good/bad feedback?

knowing POD, there will be an "official afterparty" afterwards each night with one of the acts DJing that you'll have to a tenner into if you have a ticket.

    That's exactly what's happening.

    The volume of ticket sales.

Said afterparties are going to be messy as **** if this does kick off at 1.30 in the day.

    They'll be totally fine.

Any idea when they will announce lineups for the days? Was going to get a full weekend ticket but a that price and with having to get drink in there I'm only going to get a day ticket...if Jamie XX and Ronson are on the same day I'm sorted, if not there will be ructions!

    From their FB page:
The full day-by-day lineup will be released on Wednesday 9th September at 11am.

Great line-up but finishing at 12am and in the RDS wtf!!

Who is hosting this? Some D4 heads who've read a few editions of Mixmag?

POD. Many, many years promoting (started Electric Picnic, Forbidden Fruit etc etc)

most urban events finish by 12 as they're in residential areas not a field in the middle of nowhere.
there aren't many other venues with multiple indoor areas and it obviously can't be outside in the middle of November.
POD, the people behind Forbidden Fruit and Electric Picnic, are the promoters.
i'm sure some of them live in "D4".

It's a lousy venue. No atmosphere, sh1te acoustics.

The likes of Tiga and Todd Terje finishing before midnight is plain daft.

I don't see the point of this at all, tbh.

You don't see the point in the festival at all but are gonna comment on it anyway and make a few disparaging remarks about D4 heads. Top notch contribution

Get a grip, my comments are valid.

It's a great line up but being held in a venue with poor acoustics and no atmosphere and with an 11pm finish.

It's a waste bringing those acts to Ireland and having them play under those constraints, both for performer and the punter.

Tiga managed fine at B&S, and Terje at Longitude, so I'm sure they won't be too upset.

The lights coming on at 11pm each night for this lineup is daft.

The promoters need to get an extension, if possible.

there will be afterparties going on , no way all those dj's will not be playing somewhere. questlove dj set will happen

Argh I'm just disappointed, that's all, as I love the line-up.

Hopefully the afterparties will be good.

Is there a camping area at the festival.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Zero mention of camping so far. Also it's November so that would be pretty insane would it not?

There will be no camping at this

As it's the RDS in the middle of Ballsbridge it would be doubly insane. Imagine the reaction from residents if a camping favella was there in the middle of D4

Get a hostel or an airbnb.
