Their website is incredibly vague so I've no idea what to expect. Not a great name either as there is already an established music festival in the Netherlands with the same name.

Worth nothing its run by POD & Hidden Agenda and it's the same weekend as Iceland Airwaves Festival in Reykjavik and a week after Pitchfork festival in Paris. Both have Bjork as headliner.

RDS in November?... Means it will be at least partially in the simmonscourt building. Easily the worst venue for sound in the country. Not a chance regardless of who they announce.

Aye was thinking that, RDS is hardly the best venue going. Still interested in finding out what its all about.

lineup on Wednesday next week (22nd).
don't know why they didn't just wait until then to announce it properly...

New Order & Death Cab for Cutie both touring UK/Europe at the start of November with no Irish dates on the cards. Both have been booked by POD in the past so wouldn't be surprised if they possibly made an appearance.

Complete guess work on my part though.

Well Samhain was being held in a load of cow sheds and that was low down on the list of complaints about it. I think simmonscourt issues can be worked around, this looks to be a multistage festival so it unlikely they will have to blast every thing to the end of the hall. They may just keep near the main hall, since simmoncourt is a bit of a trek away.

Since this is ballsbridge ye'll all be out of there by 11pm.

A cow shed is the Sydney Opera House compared to Simmonscourt. Easily the worst acoustics I ever heard and I've been to gigs in the Village, a venue so awful for sound that you might as well stay at home, get your neighbour 3 doors down to play the the cd at full volume, and jam a couple of biros into your eardrums while trying to listen through the wall to get the same effect.

If the promoters aren't using it then fair enough but given it will be the middle of winter I can't see how they won't be using the fixed structures in the venue for at least one of the big stages. I'm already anticipating a half decent lineup being ruined on that kip of a venue and if their hope of teasing this early is to get some social media coverage than lets have that coverage focus on the most glaring problem straight off so they can address it.

Funnily enough the sydney opera is supposed to have very bad acoustics too, though i think they sorted it out.

Are we ever gonna see Todd Terjes band here?
Decent line up , the roots are incredible live band if you've never seen them.

Chic would want take a rest at this stage.

    This would be highly unlikely.

I'd say even 11 would be pushing it, highly residential area. Given the crowd it might pull and location, I'm surprised this got the go ahead. Some amount of people will be 'buzzin' at 11pm after this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 224 ✭✭St. Lupulin

Watch them have Jeff Mills playing at 4 PM or some sh!t...

What a waste...just like Carl Craig was at Longitude.

Terje should be at the Picnic instead too.

I don't think it is that sort of festival. Also sounds like they are using all of the RDS so bad sound ahoy!

It's indoors in the RDS though. Anyone been to an indoor gig there?

I was at an Underworld gig in the Simmonscourt building a few years ago and there was no problem with sound

I'll find out later the closing time.

I'm really excited for it tbh... The fact I can just walk home after makes it really appealing... despite the fact I'll obviously not be going home after it! :D

Think I'll book the monday off work now...

Dunno, saw Young Fathers at the Shapeshifter ball at Kilmainham Hospital in the main hall. That was pitiful. Ruined it for me.
