How about the end of round 3? Lawler can barely walk straight, blood dripping down his face but all he does is wag is finger in circles to rile up the crowd. It was epic, I'm looking for a gif of it now.

Not sure if someone has posted this yet - Gracie breakdown.

I love at the end of round 4 where he spits out a mouthful of blood, stares right through Rory and they both hold eye contact for a good five seconds.

    Gave me the chills.

I hear ya Ken. I think what’s happening here is both sides aren’t fully taking in the others arguments (which is usually the case on the internet)

When you say the two week camp was a factor in this loss people think you are saying it is the only reason he lost and with a full camp he would clearly win. Which of course is not what you’re saying. You’re saying it would be a different fight, which I agree it would be.

Now I think the other side are arguing that it may be a different fight if Mendes did had a full camp but they still believe in Conor’s finishing ability and are saying body kicks would do damage. Which again I would agree with but probably would not have hurt him as quick.

I see it from both sides, my opinion would be that Mendes with a full camp would be a tougher fight again. No doubt about that he will take his loss like a man and come back better. But after seeing Conor do this over and over again I would not doubt his abilities to finish Chad again.

Get out of here with your logic and reason!

Haha my bad :D Mendes was clearly just Dennis Siver with a wig and a spray tan. Can't believe nobody noticed. FIX!

Lads, have a look at this, just beautiful.

Really does put into light how accurate he is. I love that dodge and sneaky uppercut to the body. Blink and you'll miss it.

It was just a brilliant fight. Towards the end of the 3rd it was looking every bit of a Lawler decision win with him controlling r2-3 and looking fitter, when he got wobbled it changed the fight completely for the better. So many twists and turns.

Excellent breakdown of the fight, well worth a watch. Rener is very complimentary about Conor's ground game and his efficiency from the bottom position. Even a comparison made between Conor's efficiency from the bottom to that of Anderson Silva. Wow, high praise there!

Interesting what they said about how much the explosive takedowns will tire a guy out, even a guy like Mendes. Then again, with a full camp Chad would have been better able to cope with the affect of this.

I know very little about Jitz but learn so much from those vids. I knew the Guillotine escape was slick when it happened but had no idea what exact movements were needed for it like that arm blocking the leg to emergency roll out. I need to watch the fight back in slo-mo.

mendes last few fights were stand up fights mostly, winning by knockout. I must have a look at A) his last fight which contained as much takedowns and ground work and then B) see how his cardio looked in same bouts.

it's easy to shift round on the feet and look more active when someone is a pure stand up fighter opposite you (aldo, lamas). but he knew his only tool was wrestling and maybe a strike or two, when mendes felt the pressure on the night he reverted to type, overhands, hooks and takedowns. in saying that, watch carefully when he swings and misses on the odd unsuccessful takedown, it seemed trying to close the distance was killing him. add the hard counters, kicks etc and I think it was a good victory for mcgregor.

some American lad said it best. there's no point saying what if, what if what if... he was beaten end of. sure if mendes won would we be saying awwww healthy weight cut and Knee, it would have been a win etc. Fook it, he won and even his own country men sound like bitter sher doggers!

I see when some female UFC fighter saw him taken down, she tweeted, "EXPOSED" and 3 minutes later had fook all to say when mendes slid down the cage... wingers

That would be the Lentz fight and he was also gassed by round 2 but that was due to him having the flu the week leading up to the fight as far as I can remember.

Did they give you your camera back after? Didn't think they'd be confiscating things, seems a bit harsh. A warning would've been plenty IMO.

There is much less stock in take downs these days, i really don't see how Conor wouldn't be 2 rounds down if it went to the 3rd. I thought that much was obvious.

Not obvious that Mendes won the first round at all. Peoples opinions are skewed by the fact Mendes ended the round on top. He did little to no damage the 1st and 3rd time he took McGregor down, and the 2nd time he threw that elbow that cut McGregor above the eye but that was literally the only strike he threw after that TD. McGregor had significant success on the feet, I wouldn't have been surprised at all to see him given that round

Mendes landed some pretty big power punches, hit about 4 takedowns while Conor had more volume and better octagon control. But I do concede after watching it again that it isn't as obvious as i said.

This is awesome, the range of emotions is just like how i felt (a little too much talking but its a radio show, can't have dead air). Bryan is infatuated with Conor.

Video probably wont last long before its taken down

I'd imagine take downs are massively draining. I don't do MMA but I do play rugby, and tackling is the most energy sapping thing you can do on the field. At amateur level anything over double digit tackles in 80 minutes is absolutely gruelling, so I can only imagine what it's like to be constantly doing it to a guy in short spaces of time, when the guy is very good at stopping you too.

Agreed, I thought that was an excellent breakdown. Really shows how Conor was getting the better of the stand up exchanges and how he was working intelligently at getting through Chad's defenses.

Yeah hard to tell from the angles, looked like he managed to stop the leg lock which was the important part, actually Mendes looked very panicy when he couldn't lock his legs.

Just arrived home earlier sitting down watching the fights now...it's brilliant to be able to rewind fights to see things from different angles but nothing can compare to the live atmosphere it was surreal!! Just about to get onto robbie and Rory
