At a bit of a loose end games wise to decided on Assassins Creed:Mirage, more of the same from AC but Ive always liked the games. Not as sprawling as the previous games so should rattle through it quickly enough. Looking a bit funny on my PC as everything visually looks washed out.. Tried messing with settings but still not changing.

Back playing POE again, trying out a few things before the new league kicks off in the next few weeks. Wife is due a baby very soon though, so don't think i'll be playing much of anything for a while.

Finished up with AC:Mirage earlier. Really enjoyed that. Good game. Could it be because it's not the massive Gameworld that Valhalla was it's actually a better game? Don't know but I enjoyed it's Baghdad setting.

Actually gone back to Valhalla top compare to Mirage, realized I never did complete the Irish DLC section, its almost as big as Mirage. Valhalla really was a massive beast of a game.

Mdded Eldrn Ring, specifically The Convergence mod.

A fresh lick of paint on a game I've finished multiple times on console.

Enjoying it I have to say, played a class that isn't available in vanilla, the Stormcaller battle mage. Built to break enemy poise for those ever so satisfying criticals😁

The mods is in Alpha so is rough in places but overall well worth a playthough even at this stage

Started playing the first person mod for ghost recon breakpoint which like wildlands just needs to be played in extreme hard mode with all hud crap off, incredible tactical experience it has to be said.

    I'm playing RFS

After finishing up with Irish content on Valhalla went back to Odyssey to finish up some stuff there and I was at a loose end game wise. After playing a lot of AC recently is amazing to see the way the games have changed over the years. The latest version Mirage is definitely a return to its roots and away from the more hack and slash action games. Anyway have that tidied up now and onto Spider man:Miles Morales

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,192 ✭✭✭Glebee

Enjoyed Spider man:Miles Morales , definitely way shorter than previous game and sort of actually felt like a DLC. Completely at a lose what to tackle next, had hoped to go with The Last of Us, but unfortunately my gaming PC is having other ideas, wont even start it. Strangely my old ten year old PC can run it, maybe I might play it on that but its not going to look good.

Playing a silly amount of tactical fps games lately following on from breakpoint first person mod.

I bought arma reforger and ready or not in the steam fps fest sale both great in different ways, loving king of the hill in arma reforger aswell as the new covert ops everon mode but man the AI is brutally hard playing solo.

Also started playing single player tarkov mod and its transformed a game i had no time for to a great experience with mods for enhancing the AI etc.

I also bought Incursion Red River [another extraction realism tactical shooter]in very early access for only €13 but this has some great potential for the future, one i will definitely keep an eye on.

Other than that i reinstalled fallout 76 as it has a huge update coming soon and currently massively popular due to the tv show which i havent watched yet nor have i jumped in to play yet as Fallout 4 heavily modded is an absolute blast.

If anyone is interested this vid is a good place to start.

Is there much involved in turning Tarkov into a SP game?

Can ye get banned for mods?

Be interested in giving that a go

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 14,787 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dcully

Its handy enough, the actual installation of the mod is click and wait until its done then start your own local server and join it.

Then the extra mods come in and trust me this is where the game was transformed for me.

There are a few essential mods to install ontop of the SPT [single player tarkov] mod but its so easy, just extract folder into your newly created SPT folder seperate from EFT installation.

One in particular gives you a hude with direction of extraction , to me this is a Godsend as i never stuck with the game long enough to learn the maps.

The game went from not even installed on my pc to regularly playing and actually enjoying it all.

No you wont be banned at all.

If you want i can list the mods im running with it, also AI can be tweaked to infinity and they do some stuff you would expect from a live player, dicking in and out of cover etc.

Checkout this clip when streamer Klean got jumped :)

Cheers man, I reckon ill give it a go. If you have the mod list handy that be appreciated👍

Fallout 4. After enjoying the recent tv show had to go back for some Uranium fever…. Remember playing FO4 at launch and not really getting into it to it all, after loving FO3 and New Vegas, think it was using the power suits that put me off. Will rattle through it this time and see can I finish up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,192 ✭✭✭Glebee

Think I'm done with FO4 this time around, it's really not that great is it? Shooting is atrocious and if that damn dog gets in my way one more time... Just feels flat or something. Anyway onto something else.

Anyone played Gray zone warfare ?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 14,787 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dcully

Yeah playing a lot of it aswell as single player tarkov which is infinitely better than live tarkov.

GZW is excellent too, if only EU West server wasnt so bad.

Other than those two im playing some Incursion red river early access pve extraction shooter.

Also some arma reforger and a bit or read or not, yeah very much tactical fps theme this last while.

I bought Black one blood brothers over 18 months ago and barely played it . What are the single player campaigns like on tarkov and ready or not ? tempted to get either . Ready or not iv been resisting pulling trigger on since it came out .

Loving Kingdom come deliverance at mo with couple mods on . Stunned how much I love the game 20 ish hours in .

Evil West: Good old fashioned third person shoot with cowboys vs vampire with a steam punk flavor. Whats not to like. Enjoying this so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,192 ✭✭✭Glebee

Prey: Tried this twice previously and ended up uninstalling fairly soon after the starting level. Went back to it last week as was at a loose end games wise and its just clicked, what a fantastic game. Setting is brilliant.

Just back into the edge of pc gaming again, and tried out Starfield as it's on Gamepass and I have Ultimate. It was running like a potato even on lowest settings so probably not the best game to test out the rig. I've instead decided on Dyson Sphere Project, which is also on Gamepass. Seems like I could easily get addicted to it, still very early, space travel is a distant goal yet!

Go frustrated with grayzone warfare EU West server, its a lagfest since day one and they have done nothing with it since, despite their community guy devildoggamer telling me personally on discord they will be getting new servers within a week, its been many weeks now.His solution was to play in US East 5,000 miles away lol.

Great game but cant be arsed with the constant runner banding.

I got Soulmask and it is the best game of its type ive played thus far, literally too much do do even in its early stage.

I will get ghosts of tsushima later down the road as i find it hard to game this time of year, might be one for the Autumn/Winter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,255 ✭✭✭brady12

Why not use EU east server ? Not played GZW in about 10 days but had no real issues on that servers once I got my settings right .

    Commander Keen 4!!

Started Lego Skywalker Saga on Gamepass last night. First Lego game outside of the excellent Lego City Undercover.

Have multiple Lego games through different subs so wasn't sure which to go with. Was going to try Harry Potter.

I'm just sticking with the main story and finished the original trilogy parts but thinking I should've gone with the Lego Star Wars Trilogy versions since these feel very rushed and cut out playing through big parts of the films.

Started playing once human thought it was boring but i pushed myself to about 6 hours in and then it all just clicked.

I feel its a very slow start deliberately because it can be a bit overwhelming all the info it throws at the player in the beginning.

Once you get my this hurdle its a great experience, its like fallout 76,the division, rust had a baby all wrapped up with very good gunplay but in a chilled out way.

Im playing on a pve server and its a long time a game grabbed my attention like this has.

As someone who doesnt enjoy too much building or tending to your base more than out enjoying the gameplay in the open world this feels perfect for me.

I had planned a playthrough of 7 days to die now its hit version 1.0 after a decade or so in early access but ill put it off for a bit now.

Other than that i played the throne and liberty open beta and quite liked it so i might pop into when released.

    Playing: Infection Free zone

Zombie Style survival game. Top down, kinda base building, resource gathering and tower defence.

But uses world map, so my starting point is In Dublin15 and ive taken over the local school for a HQ and trying to use my squads to get resources from Blanchardstown centre and raided the Garda station for weapons

All eyes on Kursk. Slava Ukraini.

Dyson Sphere Program. A game I'm loving having. Just over 45 hours played, 2 restarts after 7 and 13 hours because I can't organise anything... finally got as far as PLS but the Dark Fog seems to have evolved quicker than expected so I'm getting hammered when I leave planets. Plus the PLS uses crazy energy that I didn't plan for... so I think I'll restart again with unlimited resources and Dark Fog either disabled or passive as I believe they are a source of parts late on that you can only get from them. Let's see if I can actually manage to make it to another Star System at least! Also didn't realise you could zoom out as far as the Galaxy map!!

So started Lightyear Frontier for something a bit more laid back. It's grand. Early days alpha game so time to improve everything. Suffers from the days being too short, as do most these games, added to the forced end of day if you stay up late enough, it doesn't give the freedom it alleges, but resets the world each day to respawn resources, which will respawn slowly naturally, or quicker if you feed a certain number of animals in the area each day... early days, not sure I'll stick with it. The polar opposite to DSP!

Path of Exile's latest league is fantastic, so i'm getting stuck into that at the moment.

Was playing through Elden Ring again, and have a save going in X4 Foundations too. All playing very slowly, due to lack of time, but enjoying them both again.

Glutton for punishment. Tried to do DSP with passive but too soon and got bored quickly with the early game stuff. Similarly Lightyear Frontier got boring after the second area. So I've just got Satisfactory…
