Another interesting tidbit is that supposedly Daenerys can't control more than one at a time. Back in the days of the Targaryens conquering Westeros, Aegon controlled Balerion and his sisters rode Vhagar and Meraxes. The dragon has three heads, so they need three riders. The dragons can also bond with people other than their so-called 'mother' or 'father'.

I'd like to think Jon Snow for one and Bran for the other, all things going well.

Of course they probably won't go well at all but still.

I think it seems somewhat inevitable that Bran will be able to control one of them. Whether that's with Daenerys' permission or not is another thing. He also wouldn't really have to bond with one to be able to control its mind.

Remember the Martells had very close ties with the Targaryans and have kind of stayed out things after Robs rebellion and are still extremely sore about what happen to Elia. So i doubt Doran is actually an out and out pacifist but having someone on the council is far more advantageous then seeing people like Oberyn(who went to KL on Dorans behalf) and now Elleria and the sand snakes take things into their own hands.

The whole Dorne storyline is just meh, I don't even get how the Sand Snake showing her bewbs is some sort of saving grace  They're only tits, ffs and in any case, it's GOT, there isn't exactly a lack of nudity...
I'd be quite happy if the whole Dornish plot was just dropped tbh, but little chance of that with your man being on the council now.

Never had much love for Stannis since he killed the brother way back whenever and this episode just confirms he's a bit of a d1ck. Poor old Davos, I really don't think he really believed Shireen would die or he would have tried to save her. Never liked Melisandre, hope she comes to some sort of horrible end, but that only seems to happen to decent, interesting characters on GOT.:p

Arya's story is not great either but at least she seems to be somewhat moving towards knocking a few names of her list, but by fcuk it's moving slowly.

Growing increasingly weary of Dany's insipid storyline. I just don't know why I'm supposed to care. More dragons, less boring political stuff about Meereen and its traditions would be great. The Unsullied are sh1te as well, but thank fcuk we haven't had to endure boring Greyworm for awhile. Hopefully, Tyrion being there will move her storyline more into Westeros. Agree with Jorah Friendzone needing to just feck off at this point.

Can't help but feel a bit let down after last week's episode (More Jon Snuh please!) Hopefully the last episode will have more about the White Walkers again.

Good episode, the effects at the end were shocking though.
Is next week the last episode?
How many more series will there be?

I say there will be two more seasons.

I tend to agree with this, too much time has been given to Dorne and to Arya's storyline. Ayras story is dragging there are signs it will pick up. But think Dorne story will come to an end when Jamie and Bronn leave. Ellaria's self pity is getting old too. Her husband was killed in a battle that he chose to fight in. It was his own stupidity that got him killed.

However I do find the Meereen story interesting, I enjoy the culture embracing however what is wrong with the Unsullied. They should be kicking ass against the masked men. They are supposed to be soldiers. Also why is Missandei still there? She is not translating anymore so is she really needed now that Tyrion is there to advise?

But like yourself I expected it to roll on from last week until the end of season but it seems to have slowed the pace again

What annoys me the most about her character is that she has this enormous sense of entitlement about ruling over Westeros but from what we've seen of her in Essos, she clearly hasn't ever thought about what the practicalities of that actually mean. When we see her in Meereen with the hundreds of people waiting to come in and air their grievances, or her repeated assertions that "the common people" of Westeros will support her claim, or her conversation with Tyrion that shows she hasn't a notion about the intricacies of Westerosi politics, she really comes across as a clueless and uninformed child.

Nobody's mentioned Hizdar coming late to the arena because he had a bit of business to attend to. We didn't actually see him die, just get stabbed (with no blood) and then lie on the floor apparently dying. He may not be as innocent as he seemed.

Do you think he was having a nap or something? There was blood too.

Her and Dany are BFFs now. There are probably a number of fans secretly hoping that at some point we'll get to see them have some private time together.

No, not having a nap, but pretending. I'm probably wrong, but his coming late must have meant something.

Thought this episode was good, was kinda beginning to like Stannis but after what happened I hope he dies on the end of someones sword.

I thought so at the time too until he was stabbed, I think it was just a diversion tactic on the part of the writers so they could go "Hah! Fooled you!" when he got done.

Yeah some weak stuff in that episode. So is that nearly it with the Dourne story? God what a waste from the season perspective. Ramsey must be our very own Solid Snake now :) Nice of the spear throwers to hold on lobbing any at Dany and party when they were surrounded in the middle of the arena.

Only people with Targaryen blood can ride a dragon as far as I gleamed from history and lore videos

all I could take from the ep was , Thrones actually needs 13eps a season, Trying to tie stuff together is just making it very choppy and making time lines funny.
Stannis had no beard last week , this week he had a beard so I am assuming 2 to 3weeks or more has passed since Ramsay said he needed 20 men. Which gives time to The Light" B1tch to twist Stannis ear and the attack pushes him over.

Very slow ep until someone threw a spear ,

Next week we are left with a good chance of Stannis just marches nothing else (maybe with a Night watch army ??)
Dany well probably be left with very few ppl around her. So we will be bored for a few min as they show us that.
Will we be shown Ayra or Kings Landing for some tie ups .....one hour really isn't enough and then it is good luck till 2016 ffs

Well, Aegon only rode one dragon, Balerion, into battle and his two sisters took the other two when the Targaryens conquered Westeros. Even Aegon, the supposed "Dragonlord", couldn't control all three at once, so I doubt Daenerys can, especially since it's only physically possible to ride on the back of one at a time. Three dragons need three riders, and we've heard about the three heads of the dragons and all that.

My bet would be that Bran will possibly take the mind of one of them. What will happen to the third, I have no idea.

I have a quick and slightly unrelated question concerning Melisandre: Is she from Essos and how did she end up finding Stannis?

Yes she is from Essos , she just arrived at Dragonstone preaching her faith and converted Stannis and his house hold with others, then became his advisor of sort

She's from Asshai, which is meant to be pretty much as far east as you can go. Same as Quaithe, the woman in Qarth who had that weird plate mask on. As for how she turned up on Stannis's doorstep, I couldn't tell you.

She is a clueless and uninformed child. It would be a lot more ridiculous if she went into Westeros and took it over without going through everything that she's going through now. Things that will teach her how to rule.

Correct. I haven't read the books but isn't she supposed to be only 14 or so when she got married? I know she's older on tv but probably only supposed to be about 16-18?

After this episode, I fully expect the show to end with the Night King sitting on the Iron Throne, with Westeroes reduced to a land of wights.
