I'll have a proper look at the 2k pro team thing in a while. I think it starts by inviting 4 payers onto your court and from there, ye can mess around, go to My Park as a squad or go to Pro Am court using your custom jersey and court.

I just don't know how it works as in is it set players on a team or can anyone drop in our out. If I'm offline, can others use the boards team, court, Jersey.

Would be a great laugh to try get a team together though, an average team who passes and plays proper basketball will always beat a higher rated greedy team.

That's very true about the good teamwork, greed really gets you nowhere in this year's game unless you've maxed out playmaking and you're a midget of a PG.

My own player is fairly well balanced, 88 rated SG but with maxed out jump shooting. Works out great because I'd knock down most threes and rarely miss a free throw, which is complimented by one of the badges I have which means I draw a lot of shooting fouls. Would be cool to get a few to play with and have a nice mix of styles in the team. Problem is nobody seems to want to be a centre.

I have an 86 rated 6'2 PG with highest ratings in handling, speed, passing and 3's. For some reason my shooting online is awful, like it has different release timing than career, so I'm happy running pick and rolls hitting the open man. Nothing nicer than ankle breaking followed by a reverse dunk though.

Been playing a lot of My Team after reading tips online about how you should just play domination until you get 100 cards (win about 10 games with 3 stars). Then you get a ton of MT coins to buy proper players from auction and then go online. It's actually a really nice change from my career. My team is a bit shyte, the games are a bit long at approx 30 minutes and losing a close game is infuriating. I have 3 more games to win but won't have a clue who to buy. Domination is challenging but a good laugh.

My Park is bad. It's too slow. Rather match up through loading. Be about the same. 5-11 in it so far. Gulf in class nobody screens

Have no problem scoring but I can't figure out how to defend in this at all, every game is 2 point ping pong.

They didn't even include a defending tutorial. Doesn't help that the controls list is a bunch of basketball terms I don't know.

Are you trying to steal the ball alot? Its a sure fire way to defend poorly. Depends on who your guarding but the general rule is to stay patient and just stick to your man (if they are still getting past you back off a few feet) and the misses will come. Biggest mistake I see new players do is spamming the steal button and getting breezed by for an easy score.

In fairness if you're playing the AI, and in my experience I'm talking playing PG in career here, the AI can breeze by you whenever they want while you're trying to go around them a full possession but getting bumped.

I could never beat the defence without a screen and often they'd just fight over etc while you'd find it hard there to do anything but go under to keep on them.

Same off ball, the AI can cut to the basket in a way you cant.

I guess the key to defence is to just not try to gravitate towards the ball for double-teams or hang off the defender baiting them to pass to your guy so you can steal the ball midflight and that'll cut down how often your player gets scored on.

Playing against the AI as a full team, just try not to switch too much as the games a joke for switching so you need to pick your battles.
Quite often it's better to just stick as PG or switch between players off ball and not to the players currently engaging the ball.

If anyones struggling to learn the sport I'd recommend playing career.

You'll get to see where the positions usually play and what their roles are.

After some infuriating games in My Twam domination and getting 70's rated players from packs, i decided to check the auction room and raging i didn't sooner. Bought a gold Kobe and Melo, 6k my team points for both, bargain! Have 4 gold players on my starting lineup, bench full of silver. Games a lot more fun straight away.

I can't stop fouling during shots though. I have tried not pressing turbo and then not even pressing block, list guard (l2) and i still end up fouling. I get wrecked at the other end of the court and nothing.

Was playing last night and noticed a finale 2ktv thing was available. Got 900vc for answer some questions and got some 2k17 info like Ronnie 2k that there will be a face scan app and you will be able to choose 'get back' animations with the right stick, which i think are celebrations after a made shot, blocked shot etc.

Playing road to the playoffs in My Team but using only bronze players at the start is a bit of a pain. Is the My GM mode any good? Was never into manager games so wondering if I'm missing anything good?

It's ok but not as good as the last one IMO. You have a lot of different plates spinning so it takes a bit of focus and knowing how the trade and free agency markets work in real life (which is why I'm awful at it lol). Worth a go though, if you do then use a fantasy draft and keep restarting it until you get a top 5 pick. It's nice to be able to build your team from the ground up that way. Always go for potential over veterans, don't sign any players over 27 and they'll keep developing well.

On an unrelated note, was playing MyCareer last night and managed a few on-ball steals in the one game (three I think, the guy I was guarding had shocking ball security) and when I got back to the menu I unlocked the Pick Pocket badge. After a couple of games using it, all I'll say is absolutely go out of your way to get that badge. I'm stealing the ball 1 in 3 times now off the dribble and with my gold Transition Finisher those steals are guaranteed points. Game-changer.

EDIT: Jut looked up the requirements for that badge. Poke the ball lose 50 times in a season. Don't even need to complete the steal, just dispossess them.

Fantasy draft basically means every player is a free agent and the 30 teams take turns picking from that field of players until everyone has 12 on their team. Number 1 pick always takes Lebron anyways, but Anthony Davis is the best first pick because he's young and you could build the team around him. If you can get Deandre Jordan in the second round, you're sorted (sometimes he goes late in the first though).

Ah will definitely try that. I don't like the current Bulls team besides Rose who might be heading to the Knicks soon anyway. Fantasy draft sounds much more interesting than the regular roster

Thank god that story mode is over, the beyond the grave monologue at the end was the most excruciating thing I've experienced in a game in a long time.

Good laugh last night Marty, we wrecked shop on My Park. Passing and open shots win everytime.....except when we are up against 7 foot guys rated 99 :rolleyes:. Raging I didn't record some of our alley oops, must remember to hit the share button next time.

The 2v2 was good but I find the 3v3 is the best laugh. That other random guy though was the typical fool never passing and taking awful shots with guys in his face, no wonder we lost with him. If we can get a 3rd person from on here, I think we could go on a good win streak. I hate how it takes so long to level up though.

Whats your psn? I'll be on again tonight after 11 if anyone's around. More important than ratings is just taking open shots as in when you get open and there isn't a defender in your face. That and passing. Saying that I'm ab 86 PG with my shooting maxed at 84 but still miss wide open shots. Speaking of, Marty what's your shooting form and jumpshot type? I'm gonna have to try a new one.

Also i recommend everyone download the MyNba2k app for phones and tablets. You can earn VC every day that helps big time starting out.

My jump shot is the Tony Parker one, best by far and I've stuck with it for ages now, which is saying a lot as I'd usually change every week or two. Choose the quick release on it too.

60 rated now and got a 1 year contract with Miami Heat.

Yupp 1st season is tough, try just get assists and rebounds, be a good team player. Then pump all your VC in to the shooting category in your attributes. Get them up high enough before touching other sections would be my advice.

Just after watching a fairly long video about making a good PG build, I was thinking of starting one myself so I'll go through it quickly here for anyone that might be interested.

First of all, you'll just want to get though all the high school and college games as quickly as you can because you don't get much from them in the long run., just try and score a few points and get some boards and assists and then foul out. Once you're in the NBA, you'll want to go for Live Practice on every single off day to unlock upgrades, leave Connections and Endorsements aside completely. Every 5 Live Practices unlocks an upgrade (still have to buy it with VC though, but it increases your rating ceiling).

As for what you'll want to put your VC into, you'll need to go online and look up how to unlock the shooting, dribble move and passing badges, and go out of your way to unlock and upgrade those, forget about buying attribute upgrades for the time being. When you have Corner Specialist, Dead-Eye, Unfazed, Microwave and the rest of the good ones up to gold, then starting spending VC on attribute upgrades. Start by maxing out Jump Shooting and nothing else. When that's maxed out, mix between Athlete and Playmaking until they're both maxed out. Next up is Defending, again, max that out. After you've all those done, keep putting the rest into Inside Scoring because it's not crucial when you have a decent dunk rating from Athlete. Put nothing into Rebounding, the attributes make little difference, it's mainly about your Strength rating and size.

One more thing, if around mid-January it looks like your team is going to the playoffs, request a trade to a team that has virtually no chance of getting there. You get no off-days during the playoffs and you're really just wasting your time for nothing because you can't sim the games and you get pretty much no reward for winning the championship aside from a decent badge.

I know it's a long read but I hope that helps anyone starting out, especially with the influx of Plus players who just got it recently.

PS. This is just a build for PG, if you're any other position you'll need to change bits and pieces to suit yourself.
