Why did the female wildling chieftain freeze (s'cuse the pun) when she saw these kid zombies?

We seen her put her own kids on a boat so it's hardly them (look to far decomposed for that). Was it just the horror of fighting kids?

Kid on the left looks like Bran Stark, they have to show some of that storyline next week dont they?
I think they said that there would be no Bran story line this year.

Presently 6 people have voted 5 or less on this episode wtf to people want Jesus you just can't please some people
One of the finest hours of TV since Liverpool came back against ac Milan in 2005
I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt and say it was people scrolling on the mobile site. I'm always clicking things I don't mean to on that. There are probably dozens of users wondering why I'm looking at their profiles because of it :(

That was my thinking. She couldn't bring herself to hack away children (despite them being zombies). It was a bit of a pointless death though, she could have fought them off. I would have liked to see her stay on a while more.

Still though, about 5 minutes of screen time and she's a bit of a fan favourite. If you're gonna go out, go out on a high :)

Quite possibly is the same girl

    Possibly.

On thronecast, the trailer for EP 9 indicates the acting lord commander may not allow Jon & the wildlings through the tunnel anyway.
no discussing next eps on this thread.

Ya i don't think he was casted for this year.

What great about this is that last week we are intrigued by the politics in king landing and this week we are reminded that it doesn't matter a sh1te. Its becoming more obvious that things are gearing towards a struggle between those who believe in the true notion of "protector of the realm" and those more preoccupied by the more petty tussles of power and who sits on the iron throne.

    At the top there's
    Bran and Jon Snow

Then Stannis has kind of bought it to it but wouldn't be doing it if there wasn't a prize at the end

Dany sounds like she could be swung especially with the tools (dragons) at her disposal.

Then there's the rest, some will be swung sooner then others it will probably start from the north down , but not without picking each other apart more and more first.

Then there's littlefinger at the bottom.

Watched that episode again and tbh thought it was silly regardless of her "feelings", they're undead monster kids, hack away t'feck.

Not much mention of poor ould Ser Friendzone, kicked in
the nads again. Not enough to be banished once, and infected with greyscale, he just keeps going back for more.

Was it said in an earlier episode there were more weapons in Valerya (spelling) like the sword John Snow has? Can't quite remember.

Is it so unbelievable a mother would hesitate at the sight of those kids? I thought it was a nice throwback to the moment the Hound hesitated when the man on fire ran at him in the defence of King's Landing.

Even though Tyrion saved his life you could see Jorah look at him like "I thought we were bros!" I'm not really understanding why he's going back to the fighting pits. I doubt fighting in front of her is going to change her mind.

Valyrian steel weapons are rare and valuable. It's mostly only the Great Houses that have them - even the Lannisters didn't have a Valyrian sword of their own until they melted Ned Stark's sword down into two swords, and they're (or were) the wealthiest family in the kingdom.

If I recall correctly, the dagger that was used in the murder attempt on Bran Start was Valyrian steel - that's what made it so unusual and easy to trace.

So they're out there, for sure, but few and far between since any such weapons are in existence since before the dragons all died out. I can't remember them going into much detail about who has them, though. I don't imagine there's much supply in Essos either - Tywin mentioned that there are only three smiths alive who even know how to work with the metal.

When the alternative is being chewed to death and turned into the critter that just ate you? Yup. Different story if she was cornered and unarmed, giving up was a bit silly.

Weren't the wildlings previously going around killing all the people including children in the villages around them? So those dead-kids are ones that the wildlings killed. Which could explain her reaction.

Do you mean more weapons in Valyria itself or more Valyrian weapons?

If the former I have no idea. If the latter; Brienne and the yet to be seen Randyl Tarley (Sam's Dad) are all known to carry Valyrian steel weapons. Joffrey had one too but I don't know what happened to it after his demise. There are probably a few more scattered among the various Houses but they are desperately rare.

Those dead-kids would be on the other side of the Wall.

Stannis doesn't have a Valyrian steel sword.

Is it not said in the Youtube vid posted on page one of this thread, narrated by Jorah, that there are about 200 Valyrian steel swords.

I thought it was a little of "Oh S****. If there are kids as well, what hope do we have." She froze and they overwhelmed her.

More weapons in Valerya, but I may have misheard.

Neds sword doesnt exist anymore. It was melted down and made into two swords. One is the one Thomon now has, originally given to Joffrey as a gift from Tywin. The other was given to Jamie who in turn gave it to Brienne.

Though has access to plenty of dragon glass from Dragonstone which might come into play at some stage.

Was it just me or did out look as though the 'white walker mist' was sinking all of Jon/Stannis ships? Was the small boat Jon escaped on, the only one to escape?

No, the other ships outside the harbor were intact.

Did anyone notice that the giant asked "the fcuk you looking at?" instead of "what the fcuk are you looking at?" My suspension of disbelief extends far enough to accommodate dragons and walking corpses, but I simply cannot tolerate the North American bastardisation of the English language in a fantasy setting. The same thing happens constantly in The Witcher 3. It makes my skin crawl.

Otherwise it was a fantastic episode. I haven't been enjoying this season at all but that really whet my appetite for what's to come.
