A small bit of froth left behind at the end is accepted and unavoidable. It generally will not tip out when tipping the beer over your head. Every beer miler in history would be DQed if you start counting 1-2ml of froth left behind. Common sense must prevail.

400m of gassy, bloated, belchy horribleness.

Making a mile or there abouts and a beer after every lap.

Guess that must be why it's called the beer mile then

    Sorry Greenmachine - couldn't resist :)

It's cool. Most of my answer were in the opening post too. Oh the shame. Though it might have been 1 mile followed by a beer then a mile. No such look. Drinking game to a different level. Way to injury prone to risk adding beer to the mix, but good luck to all taking part. :D

    Final instructions

    Race start: 7.30pm prompt

    location Kilbogget park

    Reminders/Tips
    1) Bring a bottle opener.
    2) Don't drink and drive (more of a rule than a tip).
    3) Don't have a vindaloo for lunch.
    4) Don't eat eggs the day of the race.
    5) Minimisie your fibre intake over the next 24 hours. You don't want this happening.
    6) Bring some water and maybe something small to eat for immediately after the "race"
    7) Don't litter, remove all bottles (a rule not a tip).
    8) If you are going to puke don't do it on the track. It's used by the general public.
    9) If you're feeling unwell, don't dream of doing the beer mile. It's mindless immature fun but make sure you are ok to undertake this ordeal.
    10) Don't run on a full stomach.
    11) Make sure your beers aren't too warm or too cold.
    12) Bring a change of clothes for Sinnotts
    13) Bring some change for the Luas.
    14) Think about sticking something on your bottle to distinguish them as yours. I'll have this on mine
    15) Don't introduce yourself using your Boards handle, you will sound like a weirdo ;)

I picked up 6 of them in Redmonds of Ranelagh, they'd a load of them in there at 6pm. 2 off the bottles have not survived.

What did you make of them? Not the best are they? Any luck with numbers?

    Not too bad actually.
    Any luck with numbers?

Yeah - have a batch of them, but the top's of them will be chopped off to keep a certain athletic organization's credibility intact. I'll try and gather together some pins this evening.

Just did a beer mile round the garden.

    Splits:

    Beer 1 - 27 secs

    Lap -2:30 round the garden

    Beer 2 - 36 secs

Lap - 2:30 round the garden

    Beer 3 - 53 secs

    Lap : 2:30
    Beer 4 - 54 secs

Bit disappointed with beers 3-4. Tried to get angle of bottle, pant vs gulp vs burp ratio under control...but it was harder than expected.

autopilot kicked in at beer 3 but dont let that get you cocky...you'll peg it round and come in to beer 4 panting way too much.

Plan your race beforehand and stick to it...beer 3 will have you thinking of all sorts...but just get round that lap handy enough..pant/gulp/burp in that order...you'll have it down handy enough.

This took me forever to type...im pi$$ed :pac:
