LC, great price, they just love that Color this side of the country. What's his breeding?

LC I was up your part of the country yesterday. Had a walk along the Flaggy Shore and then down to Ballyvaughan. Everywhere looked great. Plenty of grass still growing and a lot of re-seeding going on.

Have a parthenaise cross that was too good to squeeze and finish myself. Shaped like a good blue. U maybe pushing E grade potential. Much of a trade for them with shippers at the moment?

He's by vagabond out of a handy red lim cow.

The ground down there is a good bit better than what we have. Lovely spot on a fine evening alright though!

Lads is it much of a draw back to have them squeezed. Had thought I'd hold on to them but going to sell. Nice lim weanlings

Depends on age really. Some older ones it hardly bothers and you could have a 6mt old warped for two wks.

Don't think I ever had a weanling 400kg, over doing them and knocking the hair off them only seems to make them less saleable around here.

well I had intended keeping them & like to squeeze them a 2 months before I wean, but I thought a farmer would be more interested in bullocks?

what kind of breeding is in those blueXpolly? nice ones

  • Registered Users Posts: 155 ✭✭conseng

My father a few out yesterday in Ballina,

    April / May 14 Bullocks, Chx's

    462kg, €1,165
    396kg, €1,035
    406kg, €1,055
    416kg, €1,075

These were bought right from a neighbour in April.

Had a nice enough Hex heifer in also, Feb '14, Weighed 490kg, offered €920.00, brought her home.

Very small crowd around the ring, must have been watching the budget.

    Check tread title.... :)
I personally never did well selling direct to factories. Too small an operator.
