RUMOR - LEAKED INFO ON NX FROM A LARGE RETAIL PARTNER

For every sensible NX rumor, there are tons of others that just don't make any sense. This one certainly seems like it's worth sharing with you guys. The info has been vetted by mods over at Reddit and they have gotten enough stuff verified to their satisfaction level to share. Take that as you will, and always keep in mind that nothing is verified until it comes straight from Nintendo.

Marketing

"Interact with your game on the go." phrase seen on a poster.
Strong co-branding effort with a Mario launch title on many posters.
Console is currently set to launch with least 4 titles on deck.
Stores should be receiving demo units around February.
Base price point seems to be sitting at $299.99

Bundle

The NX is currently set to have a bundle option.
The contents of this bundle is currently unknown.
Bundle price is currently sitting at $399.99

Packaging

The packaging for the NX will be slightly larger than the Wii U's packaging.
The packaging is relatively clean and simple and is similar to the Wii U in terms of package design.
The color scheme for the packaging is white and blue (compared to the Wii U's blue and black).
The packaging still says "NX" however there is still no indication if this is a placeholder or the final name.
The areas of the packaging that would usually depict the hardware were blurred and redacted by Nintendo in attempt to keep it hidden.

Features and Specs

Games will be on cartridges - Information from another source leads us to believe that these will be about the size of a Compact Flash cards and will be in 32GB and 64GB variants. Even though this may seem low, the system reportedly contains a dedicated processor just for decompressing the card data. Best case scenario is ~100GB compressed into a 64GB cartridge, however real world usage pegs it at closer to ~85GB on a 64GB cartridge. Level based games and games with load screens will compress better than open-world style games. Edit: This secondary source (who had not yet completed verification) has been busted.
4k streaming has been mentioned. - What this likely means is playback of content such as Netflix, etc. Not gameplay.
1080p and 60fps are being used by the marketing teams in relation to gameplay on to the console portion. I've heard unconfirmed rumblings of 900p for the infamous hybrid part of the device.

These rumours are always pretty interesting to read, even just to tide over the time before it's announced.

The packaging saying 'NX' is a big red flag though, I can't ever imagine Nintendo doing this at all. The blue and white packaging seems a bit off as well.

I think Nintendo have gone red and white now going back to their "roots "the blue and white were Wii u colors which is something Nintendo want to move away from

I think the game cases will be red this time around. That is the colour I think of when picturing their brand. It'll be red and white or red and black. Maybe a combination of all 3. With NX being on the packaging, it's probably just to give retailers an idea of how much shelf space they need and an overall general view of its aesthetics.

The longer it is the more I think they don't know to deliver the message of what the system is & why we need it when they messed up & abandoned the WiiU.

I think it's more that they want to keep the hype to purchase period short, to make people interested and keep them interested till it's released. So perhaps they might be deliberately minimizing the time between the reveal and the release...
Of course I could be way off the mark, but with this much vagueness, who knows!

The lack of any official detail regarding the Nintendo NX, the company’s mysterious next console, is definitely becoming unnerving as we get closer to the confirmed March 2017 release date. Rumors in the past weeks stated that a reveal will be coming soon, and it seems like they were somewhat right.

Nintendo of Europe representative Ulysse Richert-Botté reiterated that Nintendo will publicly share more information about the NX within the year. He also added that development tools will be made available to smaller developers at a later time.

Is this what we're reduced to? Speculating about when we'll hear more about when we'll hear more about when the NX might be coming out? Is the NX the ultimate Virtual Console? A console that doesn't exist but still improves your general physical fitness by keeping your body flooded with naturally produced byproducts of anxiety, hope and excitement? I'm going to look like that old dude in the vitamin supplement cardboard stands if they keep this up.... And to think we doubted them when they announced the QoL improvement thing.
