I posted this elsewhere yesterday and I'll post it here too. To those of you dubious over whether Beyond Good & Evil 2 is coming to the NX, I'd say you can stop. The only question to ask is, is it exclusive? I can't say 100% but I believe it is. I've heard it numerous times from sources I respect and they say it's happening. RMC on GoNintendo was only talking about it a little over a week ago on his weekly podcast. Watch the video below from 1:11:40 onwards for a few minutes.

It's happening and I think Nintendo forked the money out to resurrect it from its limbo. Besides, Ubisoft need a major title to get back in our good books. Not just that but on the last couple of Nintendo consoles they've been there with exclusive launch games(Red Steel and ZombiU).

Would like it to happen just to see the reaction. Always remember the Bayonetta 2 reaction and how so many people couldn't comprehend that Nintendo is the reason the game exists.

Also must play the first BG&E. Have it on PS3

Would be impressive if the Beyond Good and Evil 2 rumour turned out to be true, that was one of the very early rumours almost before any of the 'what the hell is the NX' stuff.

Could they announce it as a NX game before the NX announcement. Wouldn't be the first NX title Ubisoft announce.
Maybe announce it, sure game play that looks and runs great then announce it as a NX exclusive just to build build even more.

Maybe there were plans to announce BG&E2 this week after NX reveal but had to hold off because Nintendo changed their plans

Is Beyond Good & Evil worth the praise? I never played it. Any footage I've seen was just a young one and a pig driving around the place.

It's excellent. Bit Zelda-ish, with melee combat, and a futuristic setting, conspiracies, photography, vehicles, and a great sense of humour!

I loved it, played it on the GC, it was pretty linear but lots of fun.
Some action, some stealth, some racing too, well worth taking the time to play.

On Beyond Good & Evil, I've got that "hero we deserve, not the hero we need right now" line rattling round in my head.

I don't know enough about it, in the same way as I knew nothing about Bayonetta, pre-Bayonetta 2.

From Nintendo's point of view, and if it is true that they are funding its development, is this seen as a game to actively drive system sales? Or is it more about sending out appropriate messages? That Nintendo NX will be open to more diverse gaming experience, not just about Mario etc?

Maybe Bayonetta would have been more successful for Wii U if it was clearly signalled from launch?

I couldn't see the game being a big enough deal.
The drivers of sales are things like Destiny and CoD, not a niche title like Beyond G&E which, though well respected, just didn't drum up business for it's original platforms either.
It didn't matter how great the WiiU software library has been, the system just couldn't sell without the really big franchises, franchises that offer the same or even more than the concurrent platforms.
The NX needs Destiny 2, it needs CoD, it needs Overwatch and so on, it's not enough to have Mario Kart 9 or even LoZ on board.

To some people retro are consoles with cartridges so if NX has cartridges does that mean NX is automatically a retro console ?
