This will be my first on release Nintendo console since the cube. Hope the games come in cardboard!

Somewhen in LSpace the 1st Qtr Nintendo Direct for 2023 is going really well, especially now that MS has sold the Xbox brand to Nintendo.... Apparently Halo 7 will feature Master Chief against Bowser... which is nice.
Let's face it, Cortana would look great as Princess Daisy with a palette swap.

More new posts in the NX thread, clicks in to see more disappointment. Guess I'll have to console myself with the PSN sale on at the moment. Console myself, geddit?! Sigh.......

Ah there'll be a great buzz in here when an official anouncement is made though, folks be losing their sh1t around here (except for sligeach :P).

I'll be as excited as anyone as long as it's impressive. If they go the weak, cheap tech route, they'll be in big trouble. Their last console to really impress me was the Gamecube. In terms of handhelds, the DS Lite was great, the Phat was fugly. Their next handheld should be the first time they've a proper amount of power to handle 3D properly. Like Prime Hunters that releases today on the eShop, yuck. It looks like the screen was sanded and smeared in vaseline.

On a side note, Splatoon won Game of the year at TGS

That game really could "do a Mario" as in become an IP for tons of other game genres.
It is purpose built for a combat based racing game, maybe a Waverace type affair on water with lots of opportunities to have ink effects sloshing about.
Also would work as a proper 3D platformer, with combat again, akin to the likes of Rayman 2 and 3.
The great thing is the Mario universe and the Splatoon one seem completely separate, so we could move away from accusation that everything Nintendo releases is Mario-centric.

Turns out Amazon have "confirmed" that the NX will be out on the 7th of March next year.
Well, it's a confirmed date for the Link Archer Amiibo at least, the image and date were found in both Aus and Fr Amazon sites.
