The Nintendo NX Seems Like It's On Track For A Delay

Ah FFS, who knows what's going on? You wouldn't put it past Nintendo.

It's worth saying thats a forbes contributor article, i.e they know not much more than we do.

After E3 there was a lot of rumours that September was the planned month to show it though.

There's nothing in that article beyond speculation that properly belongs on a forum like this one.
The writer is just looking at the lack of confirmation or reveal and supposing that it indicates a delay.
That's it, the rest of the article is just filler.

The pretty concrete release date of LoZ would suggest that, unless it is an unlikely example of a staggered release, the NX is going to continue to be launched in March 2017.

Really, it's just people who need clicks on their pages, filling the void with worthless bait headlines, fooling the foolish that they have some answers we are not privy to, except they really don't.
Sooner Nintendo fill us in with the new console, the sooner these clickbait merchants can go back to reporting how Nintendo have failed the consumer once again, or some other hack piece.

I'm idly wondering what Nintendo has for 2017 if the NX is delayed. Let's say Zelda was delayed with it, you'd have those 3DS ports of Wii U games, maybe some VC stuff, and... nothing. Zilch, nada. Except mobile, but thats crap.

She also says there's no chance of a delay.

Well, seeing as the typical tie ration for consoles owned to software owned is between 3 and 8:1 on average, you're doing pretty well.
And you'd be very hard pushed to find 25 games combined on both PS4 and XB1 worth owning right now, excluding titles that are remasters from the previous generation.

    I'm an avid gamer.

My Playstation libraries are about 80-100 a pop. My I have 60+ GC titles also, so Wii U is pretty low for me.

Yeah. And she's been wrong before. But plans do change.

Hey, you should see my obscene pile of games, for my 50 odd consoles.
Doesn't matter though, the range if excellence on the WiiU far outstrips the finally paltry range of exclusives on the PS4 and XB1

For now. PS4 and XB1 has plenty of life to go.

Well that was very annoying. I'll explain later. I'm going back to sleep.

You'd think so, except that the two are about to be superceded by newly engineered versions.
The PS4 and XB1 have turned out to be pretty disappointing, particularly when the performance of their predecessors is taken into account.
The WiiU may not have had the greatest of runs, but at least it's exclusives never disappointed.
Yes, Metroid is an obvious missing IP from the WiiU lineup, but aside from that we have had a remarkable run of titles, and it has been better than the examples on the other current machines.
In fact, a WiiU and a decent PC would have seen you well serviced in everything worth playing bar Bloodborne.

I can't speak to the XB1 but I'm very happy with the PS4 - and the new revisions thankfully won't stop the flow of games on the existing hardware. There's no doubt the Wii-U has great exclusives but I find playing games on the PS4 a better experience overall - better controller, better OS, better online - not perfect ofcourse but just a more enjoyable experience. The odd time I fire back up the Wii-U and am greeted with the home screen or I log into the e-shop - it's all so slow and dated looking. Not to mention the crap e-shop prices and sales compared to PSN - but that's a different discussion.

So I can see why someone would be disappointed with the Wii-U and be wary of the NX - but I'm hoping it corrects the fundamentals and gives a better all round gaming experience.

Was woke up by the flashing blue light on my gamepad sitting on my bedside locker at 5.30AM. I thought what could it be at this ungodly hour. I was praying please let it be about an upcoming NX Direct. Pressed the button and up popped this instead:

What are they playing at sending out messages at that hour and for a pile of puke no less?

I'm a light sleeper and it's literally less than 2 foot away from me at night. And you're right, I didn't try it and I never will.

I think you'd be better off with something like WiiFit where you have to balance on the board and hold 2 wii-motes, using a variety of shakes, twists and wobbles to keep Sligeach in balance while the side of him that loves nintendo tries to kill the side of him that hates nintendo in an epic Gollum/Smeagol ****-fit on the screen.

Is it wrong to talk about him like he can't read this and isn't a real person? Ah, it's the internet, none of us are real people :D Besides, it's Nintendo's fault for not giving us any NX news to talk about.

Now I have to google that Taylor Swift thing. I hate being old.

Don't sweat it, she isn't even in the game...
    Timberlake is though...
I wish Google would, on occassion, say "No Ciderman, you have no actual use for this knowledge and I won't let you look it up online, also, IE and Opera are in agreement, so don't think about using another browser instead"

    And, re: getting old

    We are now delirious!

You know when gamers pine over previous console releases whereby we would queue for hours before release? This thread has become that queue. We are now spouting randomness to the 'stranger' beside us while trying to entertain ourselves using our imagination, waiting for the shop doors to open.

All we need is someone from another thread to bring us scarves and tea. :D
