I dropped into GS on Henry street to make sure they have mine for tomorrow as I won't be in till the afternoon to collect. Shop assistant came out with a list of everyone who had ordered around the same time as me, 13th Jan. It was a big list and sure enough my name was on it.

Mind you now, I have paid in full since I pre-ordered so I don't know if that makes any difference.

I've cleaned my gaming room/space and have set aside a special place for the Switch dock beside my PS4 and Astro A50's. Meanwhile, my Xbox One lays beneath the TV looking up with a sullen face screaming.... "PLAY ME YOU FÚCKER!!!"

Smyths online pre-order still shows as Embargoed which might explain lack of a text...

here - has anyone had any previous experience of Smyths not holding an online pre-order if you didn't show up for a midnight launch? I'm starting to get antsy

That might explain why you havent got the pre order go ahead for the online order for zelda, they must be sending notice to the instore orders first and then to the online only ones. I ordered all mine online and waiting for an email yet and had to order all seperate, i hope i dont have to wait for 3 different emails confirming the switch, zelda and pro controller.

I couldnt look at my xbox's sad, lonely face anymore so I sent him off to what I hope will be a better home in gamestop

But they oddly asked me to update my credit card info just for my 1 2 Switch order.

I just cancelled it. Will pick it at some other point.

I just got the Smyths pre-collection email (Jervis Street) for Zelda but not for the Switch (Grey) itself.

Anyone else in the same boat? Mind you, I only ordered the Switch like 3 days ago.

I pre-ordered the Switch and Zelda in Smyth's Jervis in Jan and haven't heard anything. Has anyone gotten a phone call? They never answer their phone!!! Seems like people who ordered online are getting confirmation but not people who pre-ordered in store?

Strange, just got an "in progress" email from Smyths, but only for the Switch (not Zelda or the pro controller). They went to great lengths to say that it was not a confirmation email and stated on at least 2 occasions "Please DO NOT travel to your chosen store until you have received the next email as in some exceptional circumstances we may not be able to fulfil your order" (in bolder red text no less)

They also said "Your order will be ready within 2 hours. This is subject to store opening times, order volumes and time order is placed." So at least I'll know if I not getting one soon!

Just got an "order in progress" email from Smyths but it says to expect a further one within 2 hours. Is this the same as everyone else is getting?

Yeah exact same situation here, literally. Just for the Switch and not for Zelda.

Do they take payment now or when I collect tomorrow or Saturday? Just got a text from the bank to allow the transaction and I had to text back to allow it.
I preordered 2 but I dont want the grey.

this is the emails I got. these are standard fare emails from them. It means they have printed out a sticker with your name on it and are in the process of assigning it to the items you preordered.

They then send the second mail when it's ready for collection, being it a midnight launch you probably won't get the email until closer to midnight.

Pretty unlikely? If they haven't broken street date yet , they won't now so close to launch - you're best off going in early tomorrow if possible.

Just checked myself and despite only getting the Switch email I've been charged for both my pre-orders. Switch and Zelda.
