Yeah they do to the lockers at least in my experience. I get parcel alerts up to 11pm on Saturday nights saying a parcel is ready for collection.

Japanese Nintendo Switch commercial that shows off a little Dragon Quest but more crucially the first snippets of footage from the upcoming custom built FIFA.

Found these little guys while rummaging in my post box this morning. The magazine is interesting. A few production issues, and paper might be a little nicer but I like the size (A5) and the fact they shipped it in a board backed mailer.
Haven't had a chance to read it properly yet but certainly getting that late 90s early 00s feel from it.

Such a shame that S.a.a.B.J. day isn't until the 14th - would have been schweet, if a little distracting during rounds of 1-2-Switch!

@Ciderman - surely you can put your feelings about the game itself to one side and see how important it could be if FIFA is any good and takes off? 3rd party support is all about install base, and install base is all about getting people who's opinions and lifestyles and tastes we have no respect for to join the fold. We have to welcome these troglodytes with open arms!

They're actually pretty good, assuming you like the subject matter of course. Same can be said for all games I guess and it'll hopefully sell more Switches!

On a separate note - you have a lot to answer for for coining that damn 'switchmas' phrase! Least it's not as annoying as that 'click' sound at the start of every Switch video. :D

I haven't been following the Switch news that closely as I'm not an early adopter and wouldn't plan on looking at a Switch for six months or so (have so many Wii U titles untouched, which need to be addressed at some point!) - what exactly is the deal with the online subscription thing? I have a pathological aversion to subscriptions of any kind so just want to figure out what the point of it is from the consumer's standpoint and if not having one will limit a Switch user's experience much.

Do Xbox and Playstation users need a subscription at the moment to get the most from their machines and is the Nintendo version going to be the pretty much the same? I'm mainly a PC gamer and so much prefer the 'pay a single once off price, play the game for as long as you like' PC system.

Online on Ps4 amd Xbox you pay to be able to use the console online for online multi player that's it.

But you do get 4 games a month on the Xbox one for free. The 360 games you get for life while the Xbox one games you get on to you stop paying for Xbox live. Price is about 35 euros a year and you get 48 games a year for it. With about say one full retail game a month.

Ps4 you get about 6 games a month but loads are cross buy so you get them on ps3 Ps4 and Vita. You keep the games to you Stop paying for psn. Psn is about 50 euros a year and you get 72 games a year for it.

I have both as I would get them every year for xmess as gifts.

I would barely play online games anyone as I am to busy to get good at them and I rather just play single player games in my extra time and with all the games you get every month you will never be stuck yo play something as there will always be something to play.

Considering I had Xbox live since it started on the 360 and it was 50 euros a month and you got Notting for it. Psn plus was one game a month at the start for the same prove and the one game a month was a ps1 game if you where lucky.

If I had to pay for them I would have no problem as it's about the cost of a nice bottle of craft beer every month and I get loads of games for it.

i'm pretty sure you dont get them for life, i seem to remember when i hadnt access to my gold account that i couldnt play them

Nintendo haven't clarified the details of the online subscription. Online services will be free for the first few months at least but at some point they'll start charging for it.

These services will be needed for online multiplayer which includes the use of some sort of mobile phone app to do matchmaking & voice chat etc . You'd think you could also do these things with the Switch itself but who knows until they give us the details.

You'll also get a game a month, for one month. When the month is up you'll have to buy the game to continue playing it - this part really needs to change as it's woefully poor compared to monthly games from Sony and MS.

The closer it gets, the more I think about switching my preorder from Amazon to a brick and mortar store. Would I be too late for GameStop? Could also gamble on Argos getting them but wouldn't want to be stuck.

Worth noting though that not all of these are playable on PS4, only about 35 were last year.

Give your local GS a ring and see, less of a gamble than Argos alright. Will be interesting to see if Argos bundle a game with it assuming they even stock it.

Has anyone read if you'll be able to pair bluetooth headphones to the Switch itself? Any videos I've seen has shown headphones connected using a cable.

If the rumoured price of Nintendo online is true - €25 or so a year - I'm okay with it. At a certain point, you have to pay to justify the investment it costs to improve an online console service. Look how poor PSN was compared to Xbox Live when it was free, PSN on the PS3 was awful for the first few years because there was no money put into it.

It's the Xbox one games that you have to keep your gold for the 360 are free for life once you buy them. Have a Google I am 90% sure of it.

Still not bad. I am in luck that I have all 3 consoles and woild get use out of all 72 games.

If the online on the switch only gives you the game for the month I don't mind at all as must snes games you will be dome and dusted in a day with and the fact once I am done and dusted with a game It gets traded in or sits looking at me for years

1 month is a joke tbh I'd be really surprised if they go with that. I've about 20 games I've still barely touched thanks to PS +

Oh, Gamestop. I want to love you be sometimes you make it so difficult.

Rang to see if there's a midnight lauch.

Ring back at the end of Feb was the reply. (Surely they have to have staff/security rosters prepared before then?)

Asked could I add to my preorder over the phone, or do i have to do it online. Neither, i have to go all the way in to the store in person!

I've a hated of Gamestop probably irrational but why bother to give them your money if that's the level of customer service you get?

i only have a 360 and im pretty certain that when my gold account was not available for a few days i couldnt access any of my downloaded games

    I'm seriously considering changing.

The reason is mostly because I've very fond memories of midnight launches there before.

I'd prefer go to a bigger launch with a bunch of people at it, i suppose.

I go to GS to take advantage of the only occasional bargain or mispricing.
Picked up the Bioshock collection for €25 or so, when the scalping feckers were trying to split the package and charge €25 per separate disk (it comes on two for the PS4, one with Bioshock/2 the other with Infinite.)

360 games definitely don't need an active gold sub to play.

Oh, I forgot, one big reason I buy things off Gamestop is because I hate the idea of a world with no B&M game stores. Breaks my heart, so i want to help keep them going.
