Jesus that is odd as fcuk.. If it was normal mac strut you could guess that the towers were flexing in...

And on both sides too... is there meant to be some form of strut/chassis brace that's missing or something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,773 ✭✭✭Ded_Zebra

No but I am saying are they straight or warped. If warped it could cause that problem.
    I think anyway.

    How
Ohh, gotcha now, no they're dead straight

I can only think that either the bushes or balljoints are sloppy. Or it's got the wrong suspension parts in it...:confused::confused: very weird.

My answer is, it's a saab :pac: That's the set up, the balljoints fit into them,. which then bolt onto the hub

Ive no idea, and neither does anyone else by the look of it! :pac: it'l be sorted anyways none the less, i just need to get the driveshaft tunnels repaired and then i can drive it places

Well the set up is odd for sabvious reasons, but not what I was calling odd :P , the camber in the wheels is what I was getting at.. So it doesn't sit like that when dropped off the jack, only after turning? some bushing or joint must have wear that translates outward as massive movement when stressed..

Or you could just put a sticker on the windscreen that says "Stanced" and ball on...

Please don't drive it anywhere with the suspension like that :eek::eek:

I hope the subframe isn't cracked or something allowing it to flex...

I dunno really! like the only thing that is coming to my head now is the early stages of this
    Driveshaft tunnel collapse :(

Is that your car in the picture?

Wouldn't matter how good the bushing on that wishbone is there's no steel holding it in place:eek: unless I'm misinterpreting the picture.

No no its not, it's a picture from the link above it, but that's on the bad side of things, subframe has rotted away from the structure and that's causing similar camber, but on mine, the subframe is intact

Has any one seen InsureMyVan/CoverInAClick speed checks? Apparently they give you €100 and/or 1 year free insurance. Heard so on iRadio. Obviously I haven't seen them since I'm around Mayo/Roscommon area most of the time. Nothing ever happens here.

Heard of them, seen the iradio opel adams on the road once, but just driving. It's 100 euro alright, never heard a mention of free insurance though?

That ad was on the radio twice as I was driving an hour ago so I definitely didn't mishear it. They said if they catch you driving the speed limit or under, you have the chance of getting 100 euro and one year free insurance.

An Opel Adam wouldn't catch a cold.

    Anyway. Philosiraptor moment.

If I drive fast enough. All lights are green.

    Blueshift?

It's whoever they catch under the speedlimit randomly will get 100 euro there and then, they've already given out a few hundred. One person will get free insurance once the fiasco is over.

And dartz, it ain't a chase that's going on! The adam's baisically are a sitting speed van with a speed gun.

I doubt they give you a years free worth of insurance, as most people drive under the speed limit on the roads I do be on: N17, N84, N60, N5

Oh... only one person gets the free insurance. Obviously they didn't mention that on the radio.

Got the VX running today. Panicked for a bit when it wasn't getting spark but the plugs weren't fully in. Ordered a service kit for it there earlier, and a vinyl roof. Off to a good start anyway.
