Defoe hasn't done anything recently but he does have the advantage of knowing he'll play before the deadline, if he's picked to play against Hull then I'll probably stick with him, home to Villa after that and if he was to score tonight he could well go on a little run.
DiMaria is more urgent to move out as it appears likely that he will not even start away to Newcastle, Mane is my current preferred option. I'm also giving some consideration to Dier. To my shame I had only a half eye on the cup final the other day as we had a childs birthday party, wasn't bothered with the highlights as I knew the score, how did Dier play??

Is PVA worth considering for Sunderland? I know he got dropped for a game but he's good going forward and we'll know by the deadline tonight if he starts

Just noticed that he's fallen back to 4.2m so very cheap and next 5 games are:

    Hull
    Villa
    West Ham
    Newcastle
    Crystal Palace

If he starts, I'd go for it. Not so long ago he had a twelve pointer.

I'm actually thinking of playing him over Jones tonight. What do people think? Jones has better odds but Sunderland can be a tough nut to crack.

Anyone know the chances of ADM starting? If he's not likely to start, I'll switch him to Silva (I know, should have done it last night!).

That's what I'm thinking. Wondering if Bertie is worth the extra seeing as he offers a goal and bps threat.

It's some achievement to get bonus when your a defender and your team lose one nil!

Its a tough call, big price difference.

I held Bertie through his ban mainly to avoid using a transfer, and I went for him mainly as he's one of the most attacking full backs in the league. He's up in the box so much its mental, but in a defence that's actually solid.

Was delighted with his bonus the last day.

But if I had no Soton defender I'd be sorely tempted by Alderweireld's price.

I suppose it depends if Jelavic and N'Doye start but I thought 5/2 for a Sunderland cleanie was way too high. I think there's a better chance than that and PvA will be bombing forward. Jones might not start and could then be prone to a dreaded cameo.

-4 for Giroud to Austin? Have two spurs players in already

No. Not even for free! Its not just the -4 its the use of another transfer to take him back out again afterwards.

I have Wolly, Jones, Baird, PVA and Bellerin. I'm planning to go with Wolly, PVA and Bellerin so agree that PVA looks a better option than Jones.

My head is wrecked trying to figure out what to do. I've a strong front eight, which was handy last GW, but now I can't figure out who to bench - and it's looking like it might be Hazard .

    Sanchez - Cazorla - Hazard - Sterling - Silva

    Aguero - Giroud - Kane

Kane (c) and Aguero are set in stone, as are Silva and Cazorla.

I've two transfers and 0 in the bank, so I'm thinking of going Sanchez -> Eriksen and upgrading my defence which looks a little under the weather at the minute (actually might get in Kyle Walker for Jones there). So then Eriksen would obviously have to play.

That means one of Sterling, Hazard and Giroud missing out. Seems to me that Giroud away to QPR and Sterling at home to Burnley have to be in, which leaves Hazard on the bench. Madness.

Having said that, Sterling in particular could be rested which might see him come off the bench, as long as he doesn't make a cameo appearance.

I can't believe I've backed myself into a corner where Hazard might be on the bench.

I'm in a similar situation. With a midfield of Sanchez, Cazorla, Silva, Hazard and Eriksen, one of Sanchez or Cazorla will likely be benched. Probably Cazorla.

Getting the Eriksen fear now but refuse to take a -4 for him. Hope I can hold strong til half 7!

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,697 ✭✭✭✭dahat

    Foster

    Terry Bellrin Bertrand

    Eriksen Hazard Silva Ozil

    Kane Aguero Sturridge..

The Terry/Dawson debate still going on in my head.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,553 ✭✭✭✭Copper_pipe

Will wait till team news but will more than likely go

    Jones to rose
    Defoe to Austin

    For a -4

The fear! Hate it when it comes creeping in its even more prevalent in the run up to a DGW! Hold strong turn off the computer and go for a walk until after deadline!

LOL. I came on to post the exact same thing!!

I really am beginning to get the fear now. It's such a MEGA risk to go without him.
But coupled with not having Eriksen, I'm almost certainly going to captain Aguero.
And I'll probably sell Sanchez for Ozil.

If I do all those 3 things and come out on the wrong side it's end of season. There'll be no coming back from it.

Is it a stupid ridiculous risk?

Ok, to all the United fans on here(and anybody else who cares to give their two cents). What are the odds of DiMaria being left out tomorrow, surely Van Gaal will put him back in and count the second half on Saturday as a rest.
Was he that bad on Saturday, I only saw MOTD and he didn't feature much in the first half but was involved in a few moves that could have led to goals, he put in one superb cross which caused havoc. Januzaj seemed a lot more influential when he came on but DiMaria will need a confidence boost now and not be left to stew on the bench????

@PeoplesPerson_: LVG on Di Maria: "He can be the best player in the world in the next match, so I think everything is going well."

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,262 ✭✭✭iroced

@ Swiper: I'm not a United fan and I haven't followed closely this affair. But LVG pretty much said ADM had no brain/needed to use it more. He's not really known for his diplomacy and generally sticks with his own ideas. I wouldn't be surprised if ADM was left out for a period until he proves LVG he deserves better treatment.

That said this is all pure conjecture from me from LVG past managerial history. ADM will have to change his playing for sure anyway. Now will he have done enough in training this week? I 'll give the ball to the United specialists here ;).

    Foster

    Dawson Clyne Terry
(tempted to play Bruce ahead of Dawson in light of the news re:Johnson)

    Hazard Silva Ozil Eriksen

    Aguero Austin Kane

I took a hit to get ADM out of my team, I'll be happy with 5 points from Eriksen and no more ADM. I now have bags of cash banked to move for Studge too.

You know a lot of people have mentioned how you'll need to break up your team right after and take another points hit. Neither QPR or Spurs have what I'd call a very difficult fixture list (with the odd exception). I'm tempted to hang on to both of them for the next few GWs.

I opted against a Spurs defender in the end, they rarely keep a clean sheet and it was too much trouble to work Vertonghen or Lloris in to the team.

It's also worth noting, I've never had a double GW go according to plan. First time for everything I suppose. :)

QPR have cpl, EVE, wba, CHE far from easy run of games straight after. Spurs fixtures are nice for the three games after United definitely happier holding them than Austin. LEI, bur, AVL is probably a run where you would want a couple of Spurs players anyway its timing is quite nice really.

Yeah, QPR isn't fantastic but still, no points hit required. I'll be looking to ship Austin out ahead of Eriksen. Happy to play Austin v Palace and come away from the GW with no hits. I can slot Giroud back in temporarily until it's time to move for Studge around GW 32.

Then the question is, do I drop Kane and go with a forward line of Giroud Aguero Studge.

I'll leave that headache for another week.

The Terry/Dawson debate still going on in my head.

Just three differences to my team:

    Foster
    Bellerin PVA Wolly
    Eriksen Hazard Silva Sanchez
    Kane Aguero Sturridge

    I'd certainly prefer your line-up.

It's the Ozil / Sanchez conundrum I've been mulling over also

    Foster
    Terry -- Bellerin -- Alder
    Eriksen Hazard Silva Ozil
    Kane Aguero Sturridge

If I get rid of Terry & Ozil I can just afford PVA & Sanchez. I more than likely will

Funny you should be looking at going that way most of the Sanchez related posts the last few days have been about selling him for Ozil!
