    .

....I was being purposefully ironic in light of opposing views being expressed on a similar format.

Folks can we avoid the insulting language please, it puts boards in a dangerous position legally

    I'm snipping any insults now
What everyone really wants to know is, will One Direction release a statement about all of this?

He was dead right on a good few things such as:

    - France freedom of expression fail when they banned the burka and its also illegal to deny the holocaust
    - we as Irish calling other people terrorists when we allow US planes landing in Shannon on their way to torturing and murdering innocent people

Miriam O'Callaghan is an awful interviewer and always has been. She is too biased

Disagree wholeheartedly on the bolded bit. I thought she was exceptional tonight, and is regularly very good!

WIT lecturer put him in his place plenty of times

    She def knows her stuff

At least Miriam and her challenged him as opposed to his interview on Newstalk

Shane Coleman was painfully sensitive during that interview.
Ehm, uh,.. stuttering at the start of every sentence in fear of saying something that could be misinterpreted.

No - it's more like freedom of speech + a large dose of cop on.
    And rightly so.

Not at all, it's still the same, in opposition to freedom of expression.

Painfully sensitive is very nice way of saying it

Reminded me of Tubridy interviewing Ronan Keating and not mentioning the affair

Shane didn't have the guts to challenge him at all

Was very impressed with WIT lecturer. She didn't take his guff

I'm actually a big fan of Shane but he absolutely bottled it.

And who is the judge of cop on? On boards, it's moderators as it is their site. But in society, in life?

He did say alot of truth in fairness, they dont insult their relgious leaders and we in the west think adam and steve rather than eve is normal which it obviously is not. Have to say i found myself agreeing with a good few of his points

Way to sneak in some Homophobia into the debate

Was a little bit tabloid to wheel on such a hateful, hateful person like him at such volatile time.

Normal Muslims all over the country must have been rocking back and forth with their heads in their hands.

Bit unfair. He was essentially ranting in a paroxysm of hatred. How can you reason with that?

What do you mean 'normal Muslims', this guy is the spokesperson for the Islamic cultural centre and a trinity professor. This is what normal Muslims believe.

Ye i felt she was completely taken aback by him as if she never heard such bluntness before. Her voice was shaking as she closed the show.
Vincent Browne would of handled it better i.e. told him what a fool he is.

Say what you want about the man. He won the argument. I dont agree with him or his ideology, but he made a few very good points.

Be hard for anyone to interview or have a debate with someone as twisted as he was.

If that's what a Trinity Professor thinks then I think we may need to re examine who the **** we are bringing into this country.

Please don't. I am sufficiently terrified.

When will people realise and understand that freedom of expression has never harmed anybody, nor ever will.
