On Ali Salim, he speaks well, with great conviction, and is courteous. Which makes him all the more terrifying.

He compared freedom of expression to water at one point, warning how if you drink too much water you will end up in hospital. What a truly evil statement.

Good to have him on air though. I only wish RTE had covered his face with the image of the cartoon at the end.

    http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anjem_Choudary
Choudary praised those responsible for the 11 September 2001 and 7 July 2005 attacks. He supports the implementation of Sharia law throughout the UK

Rte should not of given this guy airtime. He's probably encouraging young fools to bomb Ireland because of Shannon.

Yes they should, to remind us how frickin nuts they are.

I'm not that religious, but I remember donkeys years ago, a pope saying the greatest threat to world peace was muslim religious sects. Those 2 men frightened the shte out of me, and I grew up in war torn northern Ireland in the bad days.

    May Allah help us all

No. It's why our national newspapers should be reprinting those cartoons in tomorrow's editions.

He was dead right on a good few things such as:

    - France freedom of expression fail when they banned the burka and its also illegal to deny the holocaust
    - we as Irish calling other people terrorists when we allow US planes landing in Shannon on their way to torturing and murdering innocent people

Miriam O'Callaghan is an awful interviewer and always has been. She is too biased

Shane Coleman was painfully sensitive during that interview.
Ehm, uh,.. stuttering at the start of every sentence in fear of saying something that could be misinterpreted.

No - it's more like freedom of speech + a large dose of cop on.
    And rightly so.

Not at all, it's still the same, in opposition to freedom of expression.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,056 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

Painfully sensitive is very nice way of saying it

Reminded me of Tubridy interviewing Ronan Keating and not mentioning the affair

Shane didn't have the guts to challenge him at all

Was very impressed with WIT lecturer. She didn't take his guff

Was a little bit tabloid to wheel on such a hateful, hateful person like him at such volatile time.

Normal Muslims all over the country must have been rocking back and forth with their heads in their hands.

Bit unfair. He was essentially ranting in a paroxysm of hatred. How can you reason with that?
