I travelled to Frankfurt this evening on business. Emboldened by my recent phone conversation with Lufthansa reservations I approached the Lufthansa main ticket desk in Frankfurt T1 and asked them about seat reservations on my Munich-São Paulo flight and on the return from BA to Frankfurt. The guy on the ticket desk checked the booking, answered my questions and wished me a good holiday in BA. I think that anybody with concerns regarding these bookings should rest easy.

Were you able to reserve a seat?

Lufty wanted €25 per long haul sector to pre-assign a window or aisle but the ticket guy said he could not allocate a specific seat. I thought ...screw it....I'll take my chances when on-line check in opens 23 hours before flight.

anyone know what is the black market rate of pesos to the euro compared to the official one? Is Argentina on the verge of another economic collapse again or something?

http://www.dolarblue.net/ check the blue EURO rate. These rates tend to fluctuate big time in comparison to what we are used to in currency valuations change.

The euro will probably devalue a bit due to the brains in ECB deciding to print more money.

Dunno about another collapse. Hope not for their sakes.

Nah, wouldn't call anyone who didn't take advantage a sceptic. Some people just don't want to get burned and that's their choice. I can't wait to get over there myself.

I'm looking to get an apartment on AirBnB or something. Is there any areas that people are looking in or would recommend?

I haven't even decided where I'm going yet, never mind where I'm staying.

Think I'm going to give Iguazu Falls a miss. Seems a long way to go to see the falls alone and from what i've heard it's a bit of a tourist trap. Would love to go south to Patagonia but the weather at the end of April / early May will likely be lousy and a lot of things are shutting down.

So that leaves a week or so in Salta and the NW and then 5 or so nights in B.A. I'll go to Cafayate, Punamarca and maybe the Unuyi salt flats or San Pedro de Atacama if I can schedule it so that I have time.

The falls are far from a tourist trap. You can easily do it yourself without a tour and bring your own food. The whole thing captures the natural aspect and there isn't much commercialism.

The falls and patagonia are probably the 2 only things worth going to Argentina for. The rest just feels like something you've seen before if you've travelled a bit. Even just around Europe.

The falls are amazing and I took a 25hour bus trip to get there and it was so worth it!! Unbelievable sight really recomend going there! I'm going to pantagonia this time but can't fit both in unfortunately!! Salta and the salt flats really an incredible experience as well.salt flats are like nothing else really unique experience :)

Aggh I don't know what to do. I can't do both for time and budget reasons. Just seems like there's a bit more to the NW.

I've been to both and Patagonia wins hands down.
The falls are spectacular but a long way to got for 1 day.
Patagonia has so much to offer...the amazing trekking, Glaciers, mountains etc. Would love to go back
