So the Vega+ has been released at least (to a few backers anyway)

    ]

Underwhelming, putting it mildly. Still not convinced this isn't just one of the units that's been knocking around for the last year. It's condition certainly isn't "new" anyway.

Looks like an absolute piece of crap you'd buy from China!

Looks like junk indeed, at the same time, does anyone think the shipped units with the Sinclair branding might attract collector attention?

Sinclair is just printed on paper so anyone could add it in under the clear plastic.

It was such a news piece in the retro gaming world and colossal feck up that I'm sure the few units that were actually shipped will hold some sort of collector value.

Just look at those buttons though, look at them! :D The three down the bottom are painted like like something you'd see on a cheapo poundshop toy.

It's a shame for backers. A PSP wth the fuse emulator, or even better imo a DS with ZXDS on a flashcard would give you a better screen, better controls, more options etc for less than half the price of a Vega +.

I don't think I've ever seen a emulation focused handheld that didn't have massive flaws.

Yeah, there's usually always something that puts me off them too...be it ****ty controls, not enough power to do 16bit and above, crappy 3rd party manufacturing, or somesuch

There's a good recap of the many problems the Vega+ faced over the course of the campaign for those unfamilar.

Haha, anyone read about Retro Computers (the company who released the Vega) forgetting to renew their domains for this product and one of their detractors bought them up instead?

That is absolutely hilarious, god tier trolling :D

More often than not, if there's an article about Sex Robots in the press you'll find Mr. Levy of Rcl quoted. That's his main interest.

Anyone with an SD2SNES might be interested in the SA-1 chip beta firmware that was released earlier this evening.

Re value of the Vega + despite being sh!te. There's now one on ebay currently at 255 pounds.

    https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F292664410957

There's been more videos appearing of it too. Not getting any better.

Looks nice, shame about the stick though. I was hoping it would have a microswitched one something like the NGP.

Look forward to seeing if they can load extra games on there.
Presumably they couldn't get rights to Puzzle Bobble or the Aerofighters games

If anyone else uses the Micomsoft XCapture-1 as their main capture device I'd recommend having a look at the below 3rd party software. It runs the same engine but has better options, tweaks and is in general better than the official Micomsoft software. I started using it the other day and it just works better and easier. It probably supports other devices as well.
