Big fan of that thing back in the day.
Watching Aliens again the other week with my son, Cidonalad, just made me want to own a drop ship of my own again, but sans unwanted passengers.

In my defense, I have a series 400 cd-i(which is barely a cd-i). And now I have the better(as in more hifi equipment looking) 220 series.

Ok, its no defense at all :o:o

    Edit:
I also got a Bang & Olufsen VHS player at the same time if that makes it any better or worse :)

Does it not have a headphone jack? Just run a couple of speakers out if it does.

Just realized recently that the multi scart switcher thing I have actually has a headphone jack out, so that's be another option if your tv doesn't have one.

If you have a van and some mates who lift, you can have my 36" Sony Trinitron CRT for free! The King Kong of CRTs (Sony KV-36HQ100B).

Just read a review of that model and it sounds like a serious bit of crt. Is it much heavier than the 32" triniton?

If it's anything like the 4:3 28" model, don't leave it too long in the same spot or...

Lol Myrddin, sink holes are scary things! The tv weighs in at 90kg I read and yeah it's a beast, should be as it cost me 2 grand back in the day! Just as flat screens were starting to appear Sony were still nailing CRTs.

In other news, I know Jim is probably not to eveyone's tastes but he put up a decent video on the subject of emulation. Makes some goods points that while it's wrong to pirate stuff of course, games companies should be more competitive with their pricing when they themselves are effectively selling the same roms. The NES Mini Classic thingie gets a mention.

    NSFW language as usual.

Also, I hadn't heard about the train wreck that was the Sonic 25th anniversary live show so I'll have to go watch some of that.

    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-07-25-a-trio-of-classic-street-fighter-games-is-coming-to-the-3ds-virtual-console-this-week
A trio of classic Street Fighter games are coming to the 3DS Virtual Console this week.
Street Fighter 2 Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers and Street Fighter Alpha 2 are all due on July 28th, and while the prices haven't been disclosed just yet (though it's likely they'll be £7.19, in line with other SNES games on the 3DS) there will be a buy two get one free offer available until August 11th.

I had a 32" model and when I collected it from the guy, it was up 4 flights of stairs.
Windy, spiralling feckers of stairs too. Left it in the missus car for 2 days, while I got someone to help me carry it into the house.

Anyone else watch the Sonic 25th anniversary live stream event? It might just be most hilariously awful thing in videogames in a very long time.

When you log into Parcel Motel and the status is "Customer Stored", does that mean it's ready for collection from the chosen motel?

As far as I know that's when either Parcel Motel have stored it in the depot to be sent out the next day or whatever, or when another Parcel Motel user has put it in the locker to be sent to another PM user.

You just made me crave the existence of Clonakilty black pudding flavoured Haribos.

I don't know why, but that sounds amazing :D

If I observe you coaxing me into a pot of water on a rolling boil, next to a giant skillet, I will run away, or perhaps fly, as fast as a swallow

Customer stored means the item is in the lockers.

When its collected from the lockers it will say customer sent.
When its at the receivers lockers I think it comes up as parcel stored.

You can use the parcel motel prsl number for tracking on the nightline website, sometimes you need to take off the last 3 digits,001.
It gives a little more info sometimes.

Its been quite slow lately for some reason!

Ahhh, well, ya know...I'd probably need to open a bank account and transfer all my savings over there if I want to take full advantage of it. Though I have been considering such a method lately.

Welcome to the Arcade & Retro forum Bertie. Guess you have more time to indulge in hobbies now that you're retired. ;)
