Ha, was on my phone when I typed that. Should really look over posts before I put them up. He was EXCELLENT.

Anyway another bad night for the Hawks. Things just not happening for them so far. Getting shut out by the Jets back up is pretty bad and in fairness he was never really troubled all night.

On home ice too. The Jets played the night before that and shutout the Rangers in NY.

The Sabres x Red Wings game was great. No penalty for high stick seconds before a goal and waved off OT goal. 2nd shootout win for the Sabres this season.

It seems strange to me that Sabres have 7 points, because they have 2 SO wins, 1 regulation win and 1 OT loss - that should be 8 points.

    7 is correct, 2+2+2+1=7

A regulation win (before OT) is 3 points, so it should've been 3+2+2+1=8

Its two points for a win either in regulation or overtime. You get three points for regulation win in the European leagues.

Woops, after watching a bit of KHL, I forgot it's not the same point system in NHL. :o

You had me doubting myself there, had to go and double check that there was a rule change and I missed it.

I would like to see that in the NHL; an extra point for a regulation win. I think it would force teams to push for the winning goal, as opposed to holding off for OT.

There were murmurings towards the end of last season about it.

Instead it seems that the ire is being reserved for OT and making it 4v4 and then 3v3 in an effort to get rid of the SO.

Personally I think that getting rid of the SO totally would be best and have ties after a 4v4 OT.

3 Points for a win and 2 for an OT win and 1 point for an OT Tie would do it.

I like the shootouts myself and I don't think they should allow a game to end in a tie.

    I like a good draw.

Sabres x Habs game still scoreless after 2nd period.

Shots 19-15 in favour of the Sabres.

    ---

    FINAL (S/O) Sabres 1 - 2 Canadiens

Rangers win with an OT goal (4-3) with Nash scoring again.

Habs are daycent at the oul shootouts.

Still have that memory of Brian Gionta breaking my heart last year in one.

Now Gionta plays for the Sabres. He wont break your heart anymore. :P

Unlikely. But I'm a Leafs fan so there's still time.

53 seconds and down 1-0. Another Saturday of misery in the ACC beckons.

Have Sid and Fluery in my fantasy team. Gutted that Fluery didn't get the SO last night. Disappointing night for the Rangers. Talbot seems to have lost the good form he showed last year.

Another 1-6 loss for the Sabres.

    What a great season...

Jets fan. First time poster. Very good recent run came to an end last night. Plenty of promise for this season though.

Great result for the Rangers. 5-0 against the Pens. Playing the Avalanche tomorrow night on home ice and the Pens again on Saturday. It could be a very good week.

Leafs 5-0 up against Bruins with 10 left in 2nd.

No penalties for by the Leafs either. Madness.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭GvidoR

Didn't watch the game but Leafs allowed 6 goals from 26 shots. Did the Bruins get a lot of odd man rushes?

    That reads weird.

I have no idea. Was only following on NHL app.
I would imagine that they did.

I don't know what reads weird about that.

The Bruins had 26 shots on goal, 6 of them were allowed in by the Leafs goalie. Not very good stats, especially if the Bruins didn't have (a lot of) 3-on-1, 2-on-1 situations.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,921 ✭✭✭✭BonnieSituation

That's what read weird. I initially thought you thought that that you thought that the Leafs had lost. SO I re-read it and I allowed it to be read a different way.

But in fact you completely made a hames of it.

The score last night was: Toronto 6-1 Boston.

The LEAFS WON 6-1. Boston allowed 33 shots, Leafs allowed 26.

Oops, I thought it was Bruins 6 - 1 Leafs.

    Sorry about that. :P
