Still waiting to hear how good the battery is vs 25R.

Must say even though Im on one of the earliest ROMs I never encounter any of the touchscreen bugs you hear people bitching about, not a hint of yellow on my screen either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,819 ✭✭✭howamidifferent

Ok. I was on 25R and just installed 300r, 33R and then the 38R zip.
All completed in minutes. Cant say I see any difference visually or anything???
Phone does show I'm on 38R, My work email continues to work. I was worried Mobile Iron might get borked but its working fine. I'll see how it goes.

EDIT: I do see the option for RAW in camera...only visual difference I see so far.

I'm thinking of switching from Vodafone Super Red to Three and going with their BYOD €20 + VAT a month business deal which is all you can eat data + all you can eat calls to Irish mobiles and landlines and AFAIK all you can eat roaming and calls in the UK provided you are on the UK Three network. It's a 30 day PAYG rolling contract so if it doesn't work out no big deal. Certainly better than the €65 per month I currently pay on VF. More and faster 4G data plus more calls for one third the price. Hard to beat? Am I missing something?

Think you need a VAT number or some other way of identifying yourself as a business to get those, the civillian version is €36-37 iirc.

I'm self employed and VAT registered so it seems perfect for me. I'm trying to see the catch but I can't see anything!!

Yep, im on that plan with 3, moved over from vf, and its saving me 30 or 40e pm. Very well worth moving over.

It will take approx 10 days for the sim to arrive tho, so bear that in mind.

Someone said on a Bargain alerts thread before you don't even need to have a business to get on that deal. Not sure how true it is.

Perfect, my VF contract runs out Nov 3rd so I'll get the Three sim organised ASAP.

I think when you get into the T&C's they define "All you can eat" as 15GB, its still way ahead of other networks but there is a limit!!! still sounds like a good deal though, but beware the FINE PRINT.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,180 ✭✭✭✭Thargor

They dont enforce it though, Ive gone over that limit in 2 days downloading games and then used it for the rest of the month on top of that a few times.

Anybody know why I cannot use adb on this device while fastboot works perfectly.

    eg:

    C:\Users\*******\Desktop\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>fastboot devices
    lists my device.

    while adb:

    C:\Users\*******\Desktop\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>adb devices
    will not list my device.

    also when I do:

    C:\Users\*******\Desktop\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>adb version
    Android Debug Bridge version 1.0.31

so it is obviously working but cannot find my devive.

I uninstalled the drivers and re-installed, don't know what to do.

Sorted it. It was a driver issue.

Is there anyway to set the input Language to English (Ireland)? Bugs me that the default currency is pounds.

Where do you come across currency?

On the keyboard, the pound sign appears above the'x' key by default due to the input Language been set to English (UK).

Ok, I never noticed that as I use swype as my keyboard, but even as I say that it takes an extra button press to get to the € symbol on swype compared to the £ symbol.

I changed over from a iPhone 4 to this and the size difference is taking me a long time to get used to. The change in OS is grand but it is a big big phone. In saying that it is without doubt the best phone I have ever had (after two days with it). It can be used with one hand although reaching the top part of the phone is a stretch and I'm still nervous I will drop it. Once you really get used to using it the size is less of an issue. The battery is ridiculously good in it too.
