Follow the procedure in this thread:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057251489

Bear in mind you need an invite and that invite list is dead now because we all got ours but if you post in that thread asking for one someone should offer you one, theres a lot going around at the minute. You should have it a couple of days after ordering it if the current Chinese holidays dont interfere with that.

Can someone tell me what memory is showing up on their phone under settings -> about phone. Mine is saying 2893MB. Pretty sure that's not right

    That's your ram not storage.

    I know that.
Ram is also known as memory.
I was expecting to see 3072MB

Its showing useable ram. Which most of the time is not the amount outlined in the specs.

Edit: which is due to OS requiring ram etc. Useable ram of 2.8gb is beyond ridiculous for a phone so nothing to be worried about.

Some of the RAM is used by the kernel and some by the graphics processor, when the OS has loaded up it can't see this hidden RAM. Cyanogen does a good job of keeping down this amount of hidden memory in order to give us more available RAM. Another major benefit of using CM!

Mine also reads 2893MB, other people's may vary depending on their kernel.

Has anyone been able to get Chrome Beta working on the OPO? I want to use it instead of standard Chrome as it has a Chromecast feature which standard Chrome doesn't have but every time I hit the menu button Chrome Beta stops working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times but have the same issue every time.

I finally took the plunge and ordered opo last night. Was considering a Z3 bit after checking one out yesterday decided it was too angular in the hand. A LG G3 was also on my list and while I never managed to get any hands on time I was put off by reports of random shutdowns. Also not sure if QHD would really be noticible enough to make up for dim screen and washed out colours. Note 4 tempting too bit very pricey & AMOLED plus touchwiz all a bit too cartooney for my liking.

Order status has been shoeing shipping pending since last night - can I expect it to ship tomorrow?

Just order it direct from OPO site,no need to go through a third party now that the invites are so plentiful.
I ordered from the UK site but it is cheaper to order from the German site .

Bought an invite for €5 on adverts (seller has a couple left), redeemed the code on http://oneplus.net/uk - webpage said that opo not available for shipping to Ireland but I gave my Irish billing address and used parcelmotel for the delivery address - order went through fine. Afterwards had a good read of this thread and saw that it would have been cheaper to order from the official German opo site.

Any thoughts on Chrome Beta guys?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,399 ✭✭✭✭ThunbergsAreGo

Does this have 4G support here? Read that it was patchy enough in the UK.

Also how are people finding the size? Thinking of takig the plunge on this in the next while

Chrome beta was working fine for me up until the last update last week. It started hanging and misbehaving when using the menu button.

I've gone back to normal Chrome for now.

Cheers, I'm glad to know it's not my specific phone.

Absolutely rock solid 4G support on Three for me, including out in the middle of nowhere in Galway at the parents at the weekend which I wasn't expecting.

The size is completely up to the user, its 5.5 inches so go into a phone shop and hold an HTC or an iPhone 6 to get an idea, personally I love mine but Im 90% apps and browsing, if I was one of those people who sends a text every 2 minutes I might prefer 4.5 or 5, personally Ill never go back to small phones now though.

Still got to watch the bands for the network you plan on using it with though, 1800 for 3 is perfect, not sure about the rest...
