Just had a flash of lightening and then some thunder following about 5 seconds later (I wasn't counting, just an estimate) in Dublin 15, no rain though.

Looking at the met radar Laois is having none of it seemingly. It's as if there has been a glass dome placed down over the county to keep it all out:mad:...Anyway enjoy lads and put up some pics for those of us that haven't been so lucky lately:)

Kilkenny is the same, it is like the hills that surround the county are keeping everything out.

Nothing to do us here but amazing to see the north of France -looks like it's on fire!

Yeah, wouldn't be surprised if they get some damage from all those strikes, it is insane.

Great storm with loads of lightening (knocked out the internet there for a while) in Cavan

No see anything for KK, just the midlands link

Not sure if this is different from what you understand from the lightning maps, but what they show are individual (discrete) strikes in ten-minute time ranges, i.e., all the strikes zero to ten minutes previous to report, then from 11 to 20, etc. This gives you a way to judge motion as well as continuing intensity or changes.

I see Danno pointed that out now.
