Hollywood should just go into the brothel business at this stage.

Predator v T1000. Set in the Wicklow Mountains.

    That would be deadly.

    Why not? - it's a far better concept :)

    Predator Vs Spartan Warriors.

    Predator Vs Roman Legionnaires

    Predator Vs Cuchulainn !

    Predator Vs Pirates

    Predator Vs Germans/Allies in WW1

TBH I'd rather watch any of them than a current day reboot with the muscles of the day as lead...

Do a Marvel tie-in, Predator vs Hydra

A few years ago I wrote a short fan script of a Predator sequel set in Iraq, seemed like the perfect setting to me, it's mentioned in the first movie that the hot weather is what brings the Predator and likewise in the second film so a desert location with a bunch of marines already at war seemed to make sense.

Shane Black says that the new film will be a sequel, not be a reboot.
Shane Black Headed Back To The Jungle For New Predator

The gang at Collider reached out to Black, who has clarified that it'll be an "inventive sequel". "As far as Fred and I are concerned anyway. Why start over, when you’ve all this rich mythology yet to mine? I like the idea of expanding and exploring the existing Predator mythology, rather than hitting the restart button.”

I'll but that for a dollar.

No seriously James Cameron sold The Terminator script for that amount when he lived in his car

And you're not living in a car? You seen, you're already winning and doing better than him at his age.

I'll scout for some arid, dry, moon like locations.... Cavan anybody?
Plenty of space to blow **** up and you don't even need a permit.

James Cameron needed a permit. You see?! You're already doing better than him.

Will Saorise Connor be escaping from the Central Mental Hospital at some point?

Jack Nicholson directed The Two Jakes, which was a sequel to Chinatown - a film he starred in.

    Thank you

Was just an excercise really, had the opening as being similar to the original movie, chopper coming across the desert with the theme blaring

Santa Ponsa would be a good location!
There was a great tease at the end if Predator 2 when one of the Predators gave Glovers character and old gun

Will Sigourney Weaver be coming back for this one?

Just watching the making of Predator 2 on youtube here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBlWF6cNtTM

Gary Busey says that his character Keyes was responsible for sending Dutch's team into the jungle in the first Predator movie and that Dutch (Arnie) died 9 weeks after ending. Of course, all this is stricken from the final film.

Interesting that the Empire article mentions that Black's only writing the treatment, so while he's working with a longtime collaborator, there's no guarantee of quality here. Seems like a fairly easy paycheque for Black; he'll come up with the vision, someone else does the grunt work.

Anybody else know of someone who has directed and written a reboot/sequel having starred in the original? "Starred" is very loose but he was an actor in it.

Someone else covered it with Jack Nicholson but Leonard Nimoy wrote and directed Star trek IV : The Voyage home having previously directed Star Trek III : The Search for Spock, he also wrote Star Trek VI : The Undiscovered Country

Unrelated but it still always surprises me that he directed Three Men and a Baby

    John McTiernan mentioned here:

    Predator Sequel

    Could be interesting.

John McClane vs. the Predator, Nakatomi Plaza.

Could bring Arnold back for some grainy fotage of Dutch on his death bed. Or more than likely he got killed by the government becuase they couldnt leave him walking with that story, that's what I allways suspected would have happend to his charater.

The new film is being called ”an inventive sequel” rather than a reboo

The first was an amazing movie. Everytime it's on ilI watch it. Every other 'predator' movie since then has been rubbish imo.

The second was Donald Trumps solution to dealing with Latinos!

Such a massive difference between the two films

Personally, I thought Predators was great.

Predator 2 was ok, not great, not bad.

    The AvP movies were awful.

I enjoyed Predators too I have to say, it's not perfect, but it's a definite step up from the AvP series.

Predator was amazing - still a tense and scary movie with a great atmosphere.

    Predator II was fun.

AvPs were awfull ****e, and Predators wasn't much better.

I'd love a Predator movie done right, not some dumbed down action rubbish like the AvP series but darker.

Predator 2 deserves more love than it gets; it is its own beast & pretty gleefully commits to the whole mad premise. I can respect a film that is self-aware enough to realise how OTT everything is, go for it and up things to 11.

'Predators' though suffered from being too much of a fan-drenched retread of the first film, albeit with a decent ensemble. It was good, but just made me want to watch Predator 1 instead.

I don't even think it's worth talking about the AvP as they were an insult to both franchises involved. Inane, adolescent, sometimes mean-spirited garbage that arguably, finally killed off the Alien franchise as viable, adult horror.

Predator 1- a film I'll always watch if I come across it when channel hopping, regardless of how much I might have missed
Predator 2 - gets more stick than it actually deserves, danny glover is like a too old john mc clane, in that he can hardly run, but takes a load of punishment and survives the battle, gary busey is as always, great as the govenment agent hunting the predator - plus that scene in the meat factory was awesome.
Predators, - Again, another film that didnt get the fair shake imo, it has a terrific cast, (walton goggins, c'mon the mans a legend, and even topher grace was perfectly cast!) a nutjob in lawrence fishburne and adrien brody surprisingly fit the part of the hero. the only part I didnt care for were the predator dogs - they'd have been better as some sort of indigenous life form - hell even xenomorphs from alien would have been a good call. Also, the bigger predators / societal hierarchy thing felt a bit poorly executed to me. The standard predators are a crazy threat anyway!
