    It would seem the Rte mast just north of castlebar had got a direct hit as all radio stations that feed off it are now off aswel as rte1 and rte2

    Indeed, all Saorview channels are now off air.

    Probably an ESB line or a power cut due to something on the ESB infrastructure tripping due to lightning.

    The ESB Powercheck app shows around 160 without electricity in that area.

    its a good app to watch when there is lightning ;)

    Hearing a lot of distant thunder here on the Coast near Tralee.

    North shore Galway Bay. Some pretty intense lightening over the bay now, i.e. multiple flashes within seconds of each other. Started appearing out beyond Aran islands about 20 mins ago but seem to be getting closer in over the bay now.

    Sweet bejasus! In South Mayo and the thunder in last 20 mins was frightening. Can't get back to sleep. Am I the only one hearing it?
