    Depends on the purpose?

You mean an AC adapter? Most electrical stores would have those.

Need to be careful as there are different voltages and the Middle inner can be positive or negative.

For an elderly visitor. Any ideas?

PM sent. I think I paid about €40 for a new one from the chemist.
Or try the hse stores. I have borrowed a wheelchair for a weekend from them before.

    In Westside, Dunnes or Aldi?

I looked into cheapest place for vinegar before (to use as weed killer) and the Tesco bottles worked out cheapest. €0.45 for 568ml (79c/L).

If you need even bigger - in Westside, go to Aroma Foods Galway (same building as Aldi)
They have jugs of white vinegar (5L), can't remember the cost.

Anyone know where I could pick up a replacement electric oven element today in Galway. One like this. The closer to Oranmore the better :-)

Argos will probably be open. You might have to buy a kettle as well but you'll probably get the lot for €10-15 and you'll have a spare kettle.
    Same goes for Tesco.

Am surprised a kettle uses those. I call them computer power cables. I suppose any computer shop will sell them...

Computer ones are probably a different voltage.

    That not how that works.

Possibly a different fuse he means? A kettle will draw a lot more current than a PC so some cables may have a 3A fuse rather than the 13A needed for a kettle. Easy to swap one over though once you get the cable.

I'm looking for it for a PC monitor for working from home... :)

They used to be the standard lead for electric kettles so they got most commonly known for that. I've worked in a couple of PC repair and sales places and even when playing in bands (used for a lot of musical equipment) and always knew them as kettle leads.

Anyway, I found one in Currys PC World (in the computer cables and labelled a Kettle Lead!) but was an extortionate €22 so left it there!! Sorted now, borrowing one from tomorrow.

Can you use a HDMI cable to a smart TV in place of a monitor?

I’ve tried that but it wasn’t very successful. Not on a 42” in the living room anyway. A smaller screen that you can put on your desk should be fine.

It doesn’t have to be a smart TV - once it has HDMI it should connect.

Could do but TV too big for a desk setup. Monitor doesn't have HDMI. I'm docking a laptop so no rush on it, can just work off the laptop screen for now.

Is there anywhere still allowed to be open that would sell head shearers.
    Boots?
