Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I dropped in some books into Oxfam (9 Lower Abbeygate Street) a couple of weeks ago and they were delighted to get them.

Here's a list of some other charities in Galway.

I need to pick up a good set of pillows, I bought a cheap set before and they squashed to unusable pancakes after about a month. I don't need anything posh like feather or memory foam, I just need a good pillow that wont fall flat after light use. I don't really know what brands to be looking or what price range.

    Any help would be welcome

This is somewhat OT but, pillows that have flattened can be left in the sunshine (get it while it's here) it dries them out - read it on life hack type site recently and just checked mine - it's working.

Better bedding on the Sean Mulvoy road do Dunlop Pillows, my mom gave me a set of them and I've never slept on a better pillow.

Mind you they are expensive but 'cost per wear' more than justifies the price.

What would we be talking? more than 20 euro per pillow?

Any idea of a ballpark price-range for those?

Pillows - bought a memory foam one from Penneys, in comparison with a dunlop one it does pretty well. I found it an acceptable replacement and OH hasn't even noticed!

€80 euro per pillow, but they are the mercedes of pillows. I just realised I spelled it wrong, should be dunlopillo.

yea I went in and bought some today, had a look in penneys first they had the memory foam ones there at €10ea. I found them a bit firm for my taste, so I went upstairs in TK and got a pair of Diana Cowpe "Hotel Quality" ones for €17. They're great, gonna sleep well tonight! :P

    Nice one.

Any cheap gyms in the city centre that have student memberships, preferably with a pool. It's annoying how most of them won't put prices on their websites!

Planet Fitness, beside the 24hr tesco on the headford road. It's 25 per/month if you use direct debit. No contract. It doesn't have a pool but it's a relatively nice gym by my standards. Avoid the Kingfisher in NUIG at all costs.

Are these the ones? Or are these a lower end version?

EDIT: just properly looked at that list and I assume this is the one you were talking about

Just in case anybody is interested, I got my HRM in Argos for 91 euro, comes with the watch and the band, and takes a heart rate, as well as calories burned! :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,204 ✭✭✭elfy4eva

Was in Dealz today and they didn't have any. Manager said they havent had them in for a few weeks. Euro giant had some Drivers licence covers with the proper design and some flimsy rubber passport covers with a cartoon plane on it. I'd like one with the Irish passport design. If anyone sees em let me know! :)

Anybody know where I can purchase (online or in store) Elizabeth Arden honey drops cream http://www.elizabetharden.com/Green-Tea-Honey-Drops-Body-Cream/10034372400,default,pd.html ? Any of the typical shops stocking Elizabeth Arden products have stopped selling it for some reason?

That sounds like some sort of beauty product, you can have a look in Fashion&Appearance or Beauty forums.
    Here's how to search

Odd one for you fine Galway folk, where in cc would I get a 25x18mm rubber stopper?

Needs to make an airtight seal on a 2l bottle, needs to be rubber as I need to put a football pump nozzle thing through it.

Gonna be in Galway for an hour in about an hour so time is against me!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,912 ✭✭✭✭Eeden

I'm thinking maybe somewhere that does home brewing supplies? But I don't know off hand. Sorry.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 81,220 ✭✭✭✭biko

Perhaps a few unpumped balloons over the top and some rubber bands to hold them?
That would make a thick rubber membrane over the top.

    Vaporising whiskey!

Shot in the bottle, put in the bung, pump air in and when it's about to pop uncork it, and the drop in pressure vases the drink,

Not sure that'd work biko, but it's worth a shot if all else fails. Redoing every time could get annoying
