Good to know. There won't be a trip like this again for a while, please God. Not good for the fans or the players. At least the trip back to Galway won't be that far.

Niyi is such a nice guy. Even when shattered he had a big smile and a handshake for the American woman in Dublin airport

Not necessarily comical but you would find it hard to make up a set of circumstances that could all work against you

Leinster had a similar experience on the pitch this week!

That was on the pitch. DK, followed by Sexton, followed by DK/Conan was wow. I tend to go with Catfromhue on this. More a transport issue than a player issue :-)

Munster Stade game is off, big effect on the interpro the week after

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,965 ✭✭✭connachta

In both way, they'll be fresher but less "in the fight" after Treviso and a week off

They'll be a lot stronger, will have to play the first choice players after a week off to keep them sharp, while our guys will be more tired. :(

    Suggested team versus Brive
    15 Tim Allnutt
    14 Andre Bell
    13 Conor McPhillips
    12 Sean Mannion
    11 Paul Bunce
    10 Rachel Wyer
    9 Martin Joyce
    8 Jimmy Duffy
    7. Dave Ellis
    6. Pat Lambe
    5 Louise Creedon
    4 Pauline Keating
    3 Tristan Sharp
    2 Gavin Malouf
    1 Robbie Fox
Time for the management to take one for the team :-)

On a serious note I really liked that management stuck with the last group out of russia. Nobody, (even jack :-)) was being left behind. Kudos to folks like joycey and pat and the many others. It says a lot about the spirit in this team.

Belfast Telegraph and Denis O'Brien Daily both saying Oyannax/Ulster and Stade/Munster games may happen next Pro12 gameday (w/e November 28) with Munster/Connacht and Ulster/Leinster interpros moving to a w/e during the 6 nations.

That would be absolutely great news. The siberian travellers would be rested next week + Munster will be much weaker during 6 nations + Heenan, Roux and McCartney should be back to their best in February

That link gives no information regarding the possibility of when the match will be refixed for.

Saying it seems more and more likely based on that is just wrong !

What is more and more likely (BBC source) is that the game against Munster next week is off, and that's a good point, per se, for Connacht

this would be great news for us, they say they will announce date shortly but if it is next week then it does'nt give much time for munster supporters to re-arrange their flights, having a weeks rest would be good for us now considering the recent events

A rescheduled match for the 6 Nations would certainly be a hell of a lot more managable for us than playing a fresh Munster given present disruptions. A bonus of this is aside from their usual players in the Ireland squad, Stander is bound to be in the squad too.

    (If his wife lets him).

    Elaborate please?

Probably the best solution but it will be a real shame for the interpros not having the best players available and Numbers at the game will be well down also.
Is delaying these matches 1 week going to make that much of a difference?

Be shame as was looking forward to goin to Thomond next week, but will be good for our lads to get week off before Cardiff game

She decided to have a go at Penney before on Twitter for not starting her man when his form was decidedly indifferent.

Very true, Munster during the 6 nations are not a team we should fear in any way.....no O'Connell (anymore), O'Mahony, Stander, Murray, Earls, Zebo. If Connacht go down and put in a performance we should be able to get a result. Winning in either Thomond or Ravenhill is the next step this squad needs to take!

In terms of security/apeasement in France, it could make a difference...

Beating Ulster anywhere would be a start

If the 2 InterPros are cancelled, it would be very cool to make it a double header in Landsdowne Road in the future (like the Welsh Judgement Day)

Already saw Connacht beat Munster in Thomond anyhow in preseason :pac:

So my team for the weekend is

Toh, niyi, henshaw, parata, leader, carty, marmion
Loughney, delahunt, o'donnell, dillane, Browne, Masterson, nepia, McKeon

Bench would be Buckley, heff, bealham, sob, porter, Robb, McGinty

Logic as follows. Healy and poolman need another couple of weeks to recover. Jack needs the game more than anything after the disappointment of being left on the bench in Siberia. Also would love to see parata beside henshaw (or Robb for that matter).
