Can you get Somersby cider anywhere in Ireland ? Was on holidays last week and found it refreshing in the heat. Stuff I drank was brewed under license from Carlsberg by Super Bock.

The polonez shops stock it ... at least the one in Tullamore does...I've seen the Mixed Berry and Watermelon flavours among others.

What is the Best Before Date? I would be very surprised if it was last year's batch. The Oktoberfest is starting in just over 4 weeks time.

Sept 2018 according to this pic.

I can't imagine the best before date on beer is very important, unless it's a year or two out of date.

It's very important, it means we get good beer at a much lower price than normal :pac:

In terms of safety, its basically irrelevant

In terms of taste, it can be critical depending on the type of beer. As can storage - light getting in to bottles particularly.

Jeez, years ago Bulmers was my drink of choice for a while, find it unbearably sweet now (OK on a hot day at a barbeque or something, with ice)

Never thought they'd make an even sweeter version!!

Stonewell dry cider is nice but a bit hard to find and quite pricey.

Oktoberfest beer is nice but I've only drunk it within a month or two of it being released, after nearly a year it might not be as nice.

No, it really isn't. I kept some Hofbrau Oktoberfest back last year (bought August 2016, BBE August 2017) and compared it with a fresh bottle in August.

    Ugh.

I think "BBE NYE" is more accurate...

In the past the XXL has been German. If you have a preference best to check the packaging to make sure before you buy a boot load.

How come it's only showing 20% off when I click the link?

I think he means 45% of Irish cost price. Green Spot costs €60 at Celtic Whiskey Shop and the Amazon deal works out around €32.

Ah cheers for that, thought I was missing out there.

My amazon account tells me I bought it at very near that price too last December,
might as well get another one anyway to join it in the cabinet.

How did you get it shipped into Ireland? I've had beers stopped before via parcel motel, reluctant to try that again
