Bummer, B. I am with D on this one. Let it settle for a couple of days and then get back to the guy who sorted you in the end the last time around. Keep the faith....PMA won't do the recovery any harm. Best of luck with it.

Ah no Barry, this is not what I was expecting to read for a race report. Hope it's not as bad as you think, rest up, get sorted and we'll you see you back in no time.

Thats brutal luck Barry - but mightn't be as bad as you think - lets hope for a good prognosis.

Also worth checking out why it may have happened in the 1st place, some underlying weakness somewhere?

You'd think at this stage I'd be able to multi-quote but I can't!! Thanks for all the well wishes folks, feel a bit of a fraud as the news is good injury wish but regardless of what others have said to me I wasn't faking last Saturday morning by any means!!! I had an MRI done Wednesday morning and thankfully there is no damage to the hip. There is no new wear & tear either since I last had an MRI on the hip in October 2014 as I had that one to bring along and compare.

I'm taking the rest of the week off as a precaution though as there is still pain from time to time, especially after sitting. After discussion with Coach I'm going to give the Race Series Half a miss, I rather be honest about it with him as I currently have little desire to train for a half marathon. If truth be told I've been lacking in motivation and desire for my running since Rotterdam, I've done a few decent 5ks but that was all on the back of marathon training. I have lost my 'mojo' slightly.

To be honest I can't wait to get back into structured marathon training again as I enjoyed every facet of it last winter, be it Barcelona or London(lottery dependent) I look forward to the training involved for it again. So for time being I'm going to go out and run whenever I feel and race here and there depending on how I feel. Will keep the log updated.

I'm delighted it's not as bad as it seemed. Enjoy your short rest, it'll do you good physically and mentally. I'm looking forward to the next chapter!

Great news B on the injury front. Absolutely brilliant! And you're right to stick to what you really love and what motivates you most.

It takes a faker to know a faker :D:D

Delighted to hear the good news B, I think it's time for some parkrun tourism, that'll certainly get your mojo back. Apparently there's a decent one on DNS, haven't found it myself yet though :p Certainly lots of fun to be had in 'just running' for the joy of it until your next round of serious training starts again :)
