Logic dictates that Mayo will bottle it on more time, Dublin by 3-5.

As a GAA fan I hope today we see a real game of football that keeps us on the edge of our seats with end to end action and stunning scoring...........not foul play, off the ball ****e and macho posturing.


As a Dublin fan I hope to see a Blues win and just as importantly an end to the crap the Dublin players got up to last week. Their lack of discilpine and stupid behaviour was indicative of how a team that is seriously inferior skill wise to their opposition behaves. It is baffling when you consider the skill levels and abilities of the Dublin team that they should behave this way. They have no deficit to make up so why lower ourselves and behave like this?

This game could either be the game of the year or a serious damp squib. Hopefully it will match the Dubs V Kerry semi in 2013

It's like most things associated with the GAA, they try to cut corners and think they will get away with it - when independent committee get involved and look at how the GAA went about their business - they saw that it wasnt being done right - hence he got off on a technicality.

Whether you think its right or wrong - Connolly deserved a fair and balanced hearing by the books - which obv didn't occur.

Blame those in the CRC and CHC

If Connolly doesn't start - and I don't think he will - then he's some sub to bring on whether you're up or down. If he can keep his head he'll be a boost.

I never considered it but seeing its so late you're probably right. Can you imagine the roar (/boos) if he comes off the bench?

If Connolly doesn't keep his cool today after all thats gone on this he's a cabbage. I don't care what gets thrown at him by Mayo he needs to prove today that he has a functioning brain cell and keep his head.

He knows he's going to be under the microscopic from the very start. Play football, ignore the crap and walk away.

If he gets involved today I'm washing my hands off him

One problem with that and we've seen it countless times before - if any Mayo played Drags him to the ground off the ball - more than likely referee will just give both yellows- rice and repeat with different mayo lad and who knows what will happen

That's outside of his control. Throwing a dig when he's dragged to the ground is inside his control. He really needs to be cute today

I know yea but let's just say Mayo try to above in first 10 mins and referee gives 2 yellows that means he has to avoid the rest of the game with out doing anything that deserves a yellow.

Referee has to make some sort of statement earlier otherwise we'll get the same again today as last sunday

Problem is we've been here many times before. He might keep his cool today given how lucky he is to be playing but he's bound to let us down again at some stage.

Ger Brennan was another hot head but we weren't reliant on him so where able to survive without

I know. I absolutely love him as a player for his ability and the way he can play but he drives me insane with the unpredicability of his temprament. To be fair to him he's kept his nose clean for the last few years and had copped on.

I think he'll always have a good chance of doing something silly in a big tense game, and this might be the most intense he'll ever play given the buildup. If he crosses the border at all he'll get the line, that's why it might not be the worst thing to bring him off the bench. I'd love to see Connolly play well and show no zero response to being wound up but I might be dreaming.

You do realise that both the heads of the CAC and CHC are practising lawyers and also former secretaries of the DRP? Its not they are lads just brought in off the street to adjudicate on the matter. Problem is that the GAA rule book isn't good enough, and too often players get off on technicalities

100% agree.

How he got a red card after being dragged to the ground and put in a headlock is beyond me.

If they changed the rule to a red for serious foul play, then Keegan would have got the line as he deserved.

No I didn't actually, but the DPA are independent body and are probably not even looking at what Connolly did or didn't do. They are looking at the process of the CHC and CRC.

People get off on technical reasons everyday of the week - it's not right but that's just the way it is

The dream is for Dublin to be 7 points ahead with 10 minutes to go and to kep playing their game this time around. We'll win by 10 instead of drawing.

Alternatively Diarmuid Connolly doing a repeat of Stephen Cluxtons free in the 2011 all ireland final will be equally annoying for the culchie folk.

It is the world we live in - bit OT, but how many times have we seen something caught with x amount of drugs, but because the warrant was out of date, they got off, or folk get off drink driving cause of a technicality?

I'm not saying it's right, but why do the Powers of be not follow procedures and ensure they don't leave themselves open for a successful appeal. More than likely the guys where too tired, because they chose to have the appeal so late, and maybe have missed something or just didn't something wrong.

But why not just play the game fairly, our best 15 against your best 15, and play football - don't engaged in off the ball fights or dragging guys down - Had the Mayo lad just concentrated on football, none of this would have happened.

Do you not agree that the Mayo Lad was in the wrong initially and had he concentrated on the ball, that none of this would have happened. Let's see if your man enough to admit that?
